cant we just come to a compromise and realize that maybe, just maybe, taylor was just doing her due diligence in supporting an up and coming artist and gave her flowers, her team asked for credit for a hit song that clearly interpolated a song of hers (which ironically is now a bigger hit than the original song), and that it validly put off/offended olivia and now she just doesn't want anything to do publicly with taylor (plus the comparisons, even if the credits never happened im willing to bet she would've distanced herself very quickly after SOUR)

 

odds are the two probably still communicate but privately, i know for a fact that olivia and her team are highly aware any media spotlight on her and taylor in the same article will generate the comparisons discourse and that's something she doesn't want, especially given that taylor is currently riding a high not seen since 80s michael jackson.

 

taylor and her team demanding credits is valid, and olivia being put off and maybe slightly offended is also valid, but that doesn't mean that its beef ffs.

all of these details were negotiated by lawyers who know a thing or two about the minutia of things. No one knows the details so it's all speculation, but surely Olivia/Dan's lawyers wouldn't just roll over and accept an outrageous deal is they had a case. But if they did, well...

girl i like taylor’s music. but im not some die hard swiftie that cant give criticism when she is doing things that in my opinion are wrong. also. i literally shared an article. if it wasnt me someone else would have. i can still share articles related to this whilst listening to taylor swift’s music as a casual listener and praise her if she does something that deserves praise!
