And it seems like she decided to give out the royalties when she says that the fans "found out" about the similarities.

It wasn't the fans that had to point out the similarities, they did a whole as video explaining how they "borrowed" from CS :rip:

I think it really comes from naivete cause they really thought it wasn't a big deal, or that it was just part of her "I ❤ Taylor" gimmick at the time:rip:

I’m genuinely dumbfounded that anyone can think otherwise

Legends like Madonna, Mariah, Janet, etc have been ripped off way more in so many songs that they’ve left untouched, but Taylor thinks it’s acceptable to get 50% for a damn SHOUT I-

This really shows her true character.

And how do you Taylor said anything to it???

We are writing fanfics now???

But you're assuming that people demanded the credits, when clearly Olivia decided to give them out to shut the social media posts

also 50% percent for both songs is insane :deadbanana: poor olivia omg

We need a more shady response from Olivia, and to a more respected media.

Maybe Pitchfork? Also why isn’t Annie mentioned? We need her to sharing the spotlight as well!

UGH MY FAVES ARE FEUDING!

It's the same fandoms everyday and same people too

They will make a thread and then discuss how horrible Taylor is

And then make another thread about how they don't like Swifties

and then another about how Taylor is mediocre

“deja vu” was a massive hit song. Taylor did an interview with Rolling Stone about the inspirations of the song. She mentioned the shouts on the bridge part of “deja vu” were inspired by Cruel Summer.. AMONGST OTHER SONGS btw. Then a few weeks after the interview, it was revealed Taylor and Jack got writing credit on the song, meaning they got royalties. Now it is revealed they actually got 50% of the song’s royalties. “bleeding me dry” can allude to this.

It's funny that none of the people that received credits for her songs were aware of those credits before being credited. It's funny how the credits announcement happened one week after her album went viral for plagiarism on TikTok and people can't seem to understand that giving out those credits was Olivia's decision. No one demanded them.

She kinda used Taylor for the fanbase then discarded her once she didn't need her , huh?  Nice marketing strategy though.

Taylor used her to promote Fearless TV too. Tbh it's better not to point fingers.

But people weaponising this against Taylor as if they care about Olivia are not right either….

Olivia decided to give out millions of dollars away because some tiktokkers said shout on song 1 sounded similar to shout on song 2.. yeah right

Which Jack already confirmed they were not aware. Olivia gave out the credits because that was her way of shutting down the social media posts about her entire album being a copy of an older song.

I’ve read the interview and it’s clear that Olivia isn’t going to say anything about the credit controversy any time soon.

but if she really wants to be messy she could just post about Hillary Duff’s Breath In. Breath Out and say it’s one of her favorite songs.

Nope, because the entire internet was talking about how her ENTIRE album sounded like older songs.

Taylor herself has multiple cases of plagiarism

U do know if she bullied Olivia , that can be used against her?? But it never was

That's why I say you all need to do proper research and see the real world

that is just how the world treats young women in general. discredit their accomplishments and hard work. but oh well. whatever you believe i suppose. i just dont think any sane individual would willingly give away 50% of royalties when it is not deserved.

If I were you, I'd get a journalist to fact check this.

50% is a lot ngl but if the song was indeed plagiarized, why are we blaming Taylor?
I wouldn’t like having my work stolen either, even if the person that did it is a fan

And no sane person would request 50% of a song without it going to court.

Also funny how both Hailey and Taylor got 50% (the same number!) almost seems like Olivia team decided to hand out those credits

Olivia is truly the next Taylor Swift

Childish lyrics, teenage following, acts like a high school girl and being shady when it's uncalled for

(no need to reply to me with The Eras tour numbers plz)

So does it mean Olivia is gonna win AOTY with her sophomore album? :fan:

(Also, judging by the reaction, so much for "anticipating like crazy btw")
