1. Lack of star power is not inherently a bad thing. There are far more “plain jane” people in the world and Taylor speaks to them far more than eccentric and bigger than life pop stars like Gaga and Beyonce for example. That doesn’t mean one is better than the other, it just means Taylor casts a wider net. So you can frame “no star power” as a bad thing but in reality it’s the “key” to her success.

 

2. Undeserved according to you? If you would look past the “corny” songs (which she writes that way intentionally, and which are the minority in her discography. They’ve got to be less than 10% of all her music.) — Do you know the skill it takes to vacillate between writing pop smashes with simpler lyrics + infectious melodies /and/ narrative, story driven songwriting that focuses on lyricism like her country and folk-adjacent output? There’s almost no female artist in history that can weave back and forth between such widely varied art forms other than Madonna and Beyonce. The acclaimed songwriters can barely write a popular song and the pop songwriters don’t have it in them to create musically credible albums like Red, folklore, and evermore. 
 

3. Pretty much everyone who has actually met her, whether famous or not, has talked about how she is one of the kindest celebrities there is. If she was as evil of a person as you want her to be, that information would be public news by now.

Jealousy, insecurity, too afraid to face the Behemoth. They love downplaying and underestimating Taylor's achievements while,  at the same time, wishing deep inside that their faves had just as much power as her. Sadly, for them, there's only ONE Taylor Swift

i actually like Taylor and stream her music. It's just her fans that turn me off from her. Every party or event I go to lately turns into a Taylor Swift session. One of her fans will take control of the speaker and force her music (and nothing but her music) down everyone's throats. I often can't have a conversation with someone who is a Swiftie without making it about her

And the Barbz, Hive, Army, etc. have just the same percentage of obnoxious stans imo. All hardcore stanbases have their share of crazies.

I understand that! I’m sorry you have some people that shove her down your throat. That’s not cool with any art form, and hopefully that dies down soon. The fanbase is too big to really even rein in at this point, but all peaks eventually fizzle out. Just give it time

i don't understand how people are arguing she has no star power when she's literally the biggest artist alive right now. I also think criticism of her songwriting are bogus. Sure, she has some songs whose lyrics are a little juvenile. But she's proven she's a skilled writer, and it's shown on Red, Evermore, Folklore (and I'm sure more, but those are just the albums that stound out to me, personally)
