Taylena Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 "NO, no, we don't actually hate Taylor Swift. It's the obnoxious behavior from her stans that are responsible for all this hate you see. Now if you excuse us, we have to go write another essay about Taylor's lack of talent, her writing horrible music targeted at children and her being an horrible person. We, from other fanbases, are absolutely not jealous of her incredible success and many achievements but for some reason we're always camping on threads about her career wins and engaging in discussions about her despite us also claiming to be tired of everyone talking about Taylor Swift." 4 3

Horrible Personality: The self-described covert narcissist has an extensive history of victimizing herself in the media and has been exposed for orchestrating false scenarios to achieve this, often to the detriment of people of color. Despite the perpetual victim complex, Taylor Swift is extremely malevolent and vindictive. The curmudgeon has been known to dogwhistle her fans into harassing her exes, pop rivals, and even young novices such as teenager Olivia Rodrigo. 1. Lack of star power is not inherently a bad thing. There are far more “plain jane” people in the world and Taylor speaks to them far more than eccentric and bigger than life pop stars like Gaga and Beyonce for example. That doesn’t mean one is better than the other, it just means Taylor casts a wider net. So you can frame “no star power” as a bad thing but in reality it’s the “key” to her success. 2. Undeserved according to you? If you would look past the “corny” songs (which she writes that way intentionally, and which are the minority in her discography. They’ve got to be less than 10% of all her music.) — Do you know the skill it takes to vacillate between writing pop smashes with simpler lyrics + infectious melodies /and/ narrative, story driven songwriting that focuses on lyricism like her country and folk-adjacent output? There’s almost no female artist in history that can weave back and forth between such widely varied art forms other than Madonna and Beyonce. The acclaimed songwriters can barely write a popular song and the pop songwriters don’t have it in them to create musically credible albums like Red, folklore, and evermore. 3. Pretty much everyone who has actually met her, whether famous or not, has talked about how she is one of the kindest celebrities there is. If she was as evil of a person as you want her to be, that information would be public news by now. Edited September 1, 2023 by WeFoundTrouble 3
Beyonnaise Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 She’s breaking every record imaginable in music, touring and now film It must suck to be a OTH, every day there’s a new way they lose

EmailMySwift Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 "We hate Taylor for her lack of star power!" .... "Stop posting about how Taylor is the biggest at streaming, single sales, album sales, tour tickets, box office sales, radio." What do you think makes her sales and streams so big if not her star power?
Trainwreck Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 (edited) Jealousy, insecurity, too afraid to face the Behemoth. They love downplaying and underestimating Taylor's achievements while, at the same time, wishing deep inside that their faves had just as much power as her. Sadly, for them, there's only ONE Taylor Swift In the words of a wise woman: Top 2 and she ain't numbah 2! Edited September 1, 2023 by Trainwreck
Jacobdaniel Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 i actually like Taylor and stream her music. It's just her fans that turn me off from her. Every party or event I go to lately turns into a Taylor Swift session. One of her fans will take control of the speaker and force her music (and nothing but her music) down everyone's throats. I often can't have a conversation with someone who is a Swiftie without making it about her
PoisonedIvy Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 3 minutes ago, Jacobdaniel said: her fans can be very obnoxious I agree a lot of them can be, but there’s just as many if not more that are actually perfectly fine. We just don’t get as much attention for some reason. And the Barbz, Hive, Army, etc. have just the same percentage of obnoxious stans imo. All hardcore stanbases have their share of crazies.

It’s the Swifties that are hated and rightfully so. They rival the BTS army as the worst fanbase of all time and when you call out their delusion, animosity and in many cases racism you’re assumed to “hate Taylor”. An awful cult of a fanbase. !!! this!!! I'm an OTH on ATRL because I don't worship her. in reality she's one of my most played artists and I have been a fan since Red era over 10 years ago. some Swifties on here are either half my age or act like it. some are unapologetically racist. it's getting exhausting. 1 1

I think what's different from the annoying Swifties vs. Barbz, Hive, Army, etc. is just HOW MANY of them there are. It comes with being the biggest pop star, i guess

I’m sorry you have some people that shove her down your throat. That’s not cool with any art form, and hopefully that dies down soon. The fanbase is too big to really even rein in at this point, but all peaks eventually fizzle out. Just give it time 1

When y’all let go of the idea that artists need to be perfect deities y’all will be a lot happier. Ain’t nothing wrong with corny. In fact it’s the least offensive thing the girl could possibly be. She’s not a brat, a diva, a b*tch, a racist, a transphobe, a pdf file, an abuser, etc. Y’all dislike her because… she doesn’t have natural rhythm when it comes to dancing? Because she’s a cheesy cat lady who likes to bake and come off as relatable? Sounds miserable af but to each their own Edited September 1, 2023 by WeFoundTrouble
suneclipse121 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 She’s basic af. I could care less about her success it literally does not make her superior in any way like her fans seem to think it does. At least when Gaga and Britney were at their peak they were actually talented and gag worthy. Taylor’s peak is peak basic white girl ick. 1 1

Jacobdaniel Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 i don't understand how people are arguing she has no star power when she's literally the biggest artist alive right now. I also think criticism of her songwriting are bogus. Sure, she has some songs whose lyrics are a little juvenile. But she's proven she's a skilled writer, and it's shown on Red, Evermore, Folklore (and I'm sure more, but those are just the albums that stound out to me, personally) 1
