If this is the final artwork (which I doubt)... I don't mind it? Also, don't we all stream music, anyway? I don't know about you, but when I have my AirPod Max's on, I'm not looking at the album cover. I'm exercising or doing work/running errands.

I’ll never understand the preoccupation that stans have with album covers. You never hear voracious readers bitching about book covers. Like ya, it’s a missed opportunity to do something more novel or exciting but the idea the material won’t be good bc she didn’t focus her time on which square aspect ratio pic would be printed on the sleeve.. are y’all this superficial with everything or just music?

I definitely don’t think she’s trolling/doing this as a PR move at the expense of this artist. (Already posted this in the Scarlet thread but) I DMd the artist when the first cover came out and this is what they said about it

 

So yeah the artist did sell it as a new piece with “variations” (even though the original scarlet cover was identical to the chaver one). Seems very odd to me. I also don’t get why she changed the cover to another older piece by the same artist instead of just getting something custom made (or doing a proper photoshoot…).
