stochastic Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 (edited) Artist Dusty Ray @sloppjockey_ert (not to be confused with Drag Queen Dusty Ray Bottoms) designed metal band Chaver's cover art for their upcoming album with first appearance of artwork on 7/29. The pink spider motif then appeared on Doja's album announcement post Tuesday which was then deleted. The artist reposted Dojo's album cover which seems to imply that he designed it for her but could also be speculated that she liked the design and stole it. Or he maybe licensed her to use the spider motif which is maybe his signature. Orrrr the artist was lazy and decided to scam everyone by repurposing the artwork and thought no one would notice because it's such a niche band. The artist has since limited his IG comments. No one has yet to address anything. What_is_the_truth_oprah.gif What is your theory??? Update: artwork from 4/11 this year: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cq57m2VJZTR/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Edited August 31, 2023 by stochastic

HEAVYONIT Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 I'm hoping she was just trolling us because that cover was
Mornings Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 We won ! That cover was not good. She probably has music video outtakes that are 100% more interesting and conceptually congruent with what’s happening this era.
RideOrDie Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 dusty ray really recycled his work for several clients thinking no one's gonna notice 2
brooklyndaddy Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Was that really the official art anyway? Definitely looked like a placeholder to me
brraap Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Dusty ray indeed Hope those lawsuits were worth it
fememeist Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Doja sis why would a creative like you try to use another person’s artwork?

@michael Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 This era is beyond messy. I wonder if the physical CDs and vinyls have already hit production? They’ll all have to be scrapped if so

Bhabylon Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 The artwork is different tho… like they’re two different spiders. That said I do blame the artist she hired 2
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 the artist she hired is very unprofessional. 1
Velvet Night Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Love that the artist seemingly licensed the same art twice and thought the two clients would never find out about the other 1
Apolonio ₃₄ Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 The fact that she accepted that cover. Dummy.
