The dems need to stop playing games. Seems like they don't have enough evidence/proof to lock him up instantly or else it would have happened by now.

All they're doing is making him stronger with this charade. Support for him has only grown since the mugshot was released, backfiring horribly.

"The Trump campaign also set a personal record by raising $4.18 million in a 24-hour period, the most ever for his campaign." :swan:

He could literally be in jail and he will STILL have brainwashed idiots cheering him on.

His supporters wouldn’t care if he committed murder at this point… so this really isn’t surprising.

Yaah, fundraising numbers for Trump would likely be even higher if he was sitting in jail vs just having a mugshot taken.

100%. They would just frame it as a “grave injustice”. It’s laughable.

The thing is, it's not looking like he'll be going to jail anytime soon, this is just to keep him off the campaign trail and debates as much as possible but it's backfiring badly. :swan:

I think Trump being held accountable by the law is you know… kind of important?

I AGREE, no one should be above the law.

The dems waiting towards election year to get the ball rolling on his prosecutions isn't doing them any favors. They should have had him soon after he lost the 2020 election.

That is not how the justice system works. You can not "lock someone up instantly". He was arrested and posted bond and that is how it works for virtually everyone. Willis and Smith very clearly have their ducks in a row and their cases are strong. They have zero worries. In fact, Trump and his co-defendants have tried to call Willis' bluff multiple times and she comes back with effortless ease. They are ready.

Trump is charged with 91 (NINETY ONE) criminal charges. Because of his age, Willis and Smith only have to nail him on five or six charges and he will be put away for life. Federal prosecutors like Jack Smith have a conviction rate of over 90%, and the judge presiding over Trump's case in DC, who will be the person sentencing him, has been constantly attacked by Trump and his supporters. If he is found guilty of any of these federal charges, she will not go easy on his with his sentencing.

Donald John Trump is going to jail. The question is "for how long?"

---

This is not helping Trump with independents. Only his base, which is not big enough for him to win, are being encouraged by this. Only his base, who will support him no matter what, are seeing this as a good thing. The average American is not thinking to themselves, "I did not like that Trump guy before, but now that he has been indicted on 91 charges, I am going to vote for him". Be for real.

He is also not going to win the election, people just have to show up and vote like they did last time and during midterms. Trump, despite what MAGA will tell you, is LESS popular with the general public now than he was as POTUS. Candidates he pushed and promoted during midterms lost. No one who strongly disliked Trump suddenly feels bad for him.

He constantly says he has evidence that clear him right away and yet that never happens, then he says 'witch hunt'. It's all laughable except for the fact a lot of MAGA is basically a cult who views Trump as the heir to Jesus.

This is what people do not understand. Trump has done nothing since 2020 to court new voters, and the Republican party becoming more extreme is what will hurt him the most. The anti-LGBT and anti-abortion and anti-gun nutjobs have pushed independents and the typical voter away from the Republican party. Roe v Wade being overturned will be looked at in 50 years as the final nail in the coffin for the GOP. Couple this with the fact that young people are more fired up than ever before and the election is Biden's to lose even though Biden is not the best candidate. It will be another case of "we do not want Trump so our only other option is Biden".

Trump’s goal is not to win over new voters, his goal is to depress voter turn out. His base is much more loyal and dependable than Biden voters. When Trump claims that it is a witch hunt and it is all rigged, he is trying to get independent voters to not vote at all. Voters can either vote for a criminal or vote for a man they think is too old to run the country. Those choices will make people stay home and not vote. If there is low voter turn out, Trump wins.

The optimist in me believes that Trump’s plan will not work and he will motivate voters to come out and vote against him, like in 2020.
Also, a lot can happen between now and Election Day. A huge scandal could hit the Biden administration or a massive disaster (like covid) could happen

But there is no evidence that this is working. The GOP's tactics and Trump's constant controversies have independents moving away from him.

The states you need to win, MI, WI, MN, and PA, have all become a lot bluer since 2020. MI has a Dem trifecta; PA Dems won the governorship and Senate; WI Dems won the governorship and Supreme Court; MN Dems won the governorship. There is no path to 270 without some combination of these states. Couple that with the huge young voter turnout we have been seeing and Dems are sitting pretty.

IMO, the only thing that would hurt the Dems is if Biden d***. :deadbanana:
