Touring sounds exhausting so I understand tbh

It's fair but she doesn't have tour the globe on a 200 date tour.

Throw US 10 dates and another 5 in Europe. Maybe 2 in Australia if we're feeling generous. You can be done in a month and go back to your life

I Agree with both of these points tbh :thing:

rock band tours of the 1980s/90s were extremely grueling its no wonder many turned to drugs and debauchery to let loose :thing:

I love her and I get what she means, but it’s always such an eye roll to hear celebrities say stuff like this cause most of us are having our happiness sucked out of us with 9 to 5s and we’ll make in decades what Miley could make with one tour date.

So I get it and I think it’s understandable to feel the way she does, but at the same time it’s kind of gauche to say it.

I like Miley and yes she was over worked with several jobs at once at such a young age, but if we want to be objective, she's a top tier nepo baby (which most usually forgets) and got handed most of her opportunities on a silver platter. And since HM ended in 2010, her productivity consisted of four albums that ranged from average to subpar (something she admitted herself considering she trashes her previous record when the new one is about to drop) where she usually releases and vanishes without doing any promo and one actual tour, other than a few things here and there, she's pretty much been on a 13 year vacation and honestly she can do whatever she wants, but what she can't do is continuously complain because if that doesn't fit her, she can retire right now and let that record deal, all these opportunities, investments and spotlight go to someone or even multiple people with actual passion and drive.

I don't really understand the negativity here. Some people love working (and fame in this case) and some people prioritise their family or relationship instead :michael: Even in your normal life, not everyone at your office is striving to live for work and climb to the top. And I guess celebrities are the same, especially for Miley who went through SO MUCH in both her career and personal life. Her divorce obviously changed a lot of things for her.

This is why ppl can't feel sorry for celebs most times. That's all I'm gonna say.

She acts like she's Beethoven and makes artsy alternative music that she needs to feel connected to in order to produce... and yet her music has the likes of "Flowers".

It's your damn job, do it or do something else. Before anyone comes for me, this also goes for my own faves who have been caught saying the exact same thing as Miley.

It's a shame because she's an incredible live performer and has really grown her reputation with the GP in the last few years so a tour would undoubtedly be a success, but it's also understandable why she doesn't want to. Some artists really thrive on the lifestyle of touring, others don't.

Tbh she made some points. Look at how Taylor is treated like a zoo animal on tour. :skull: Now not all artists have that level of fame obvi, but it's gotta be weird. And you perform for thousands of people, but you don't actually get to meet any of them like a normal human. It is weird though how she was dying to tour during Covid. Maybe her new BF changed things.

What? Why so negative thought about touring? What you mention is not wrong but there's also positive sides.

Some artists really does enjoy touring. The feeling of thousands people screaming your songs is such an adernaline rush.

But i see why its not for everyone though.

Touring is very physically demanding, for sure, but all that other stuff she mentioned about the ego is so out of touch. It’s a job, a job that can enhance your abilities and artistry if done with excellence and pride. Millions of people have to swallow their pride and work intensive labor positions for way less just to put food on the table. It’s ok to say it’s too much for your physical and mental well being, but to act all high and mighty about NOT wanting to tour is just egomaniacal (ironically enough)

She was clearly having anxiety issues at her last festival show… and also had that plane incident iirc ? I love her so I’m just gonna wait for her to change the way she feels about this, cause she will

I get the idea of touring is really intense but it’s been a decade!!

She could easily do Tour weekends (Fri, Sat & Sun) rest all week & only do Big cities NY, LA, Miami, Las Vegas, Chicago & Toronto

There's not a song that she wrote that required her doing this hiatus to focus on that

Because the later argument is basically an entertainer complaining about people watching them. It’s like doctors complaining about blood. Data analysts complaining about coding. Journalists complaining about writing. Any job needs preparation. Any job needs recovery time and she always had full agency to build a tour around that. No one ever forced her to tour in the way she did. Just excuses and I can like her and call her bluff out

Ok well let her learn how to do that. How many times have you fallen into system and believed that was just how it is and later had to learn you had the capacity to shape your own world. Let her take an album off of touring to sit back and see what her music alone does in the world.  Most artists do this, and this one has been working since she was 11. That's 20 years.... she can sit down and explain it however she feels is most true to her. Til then, then get you a blonde wig, crinkle it up a bit and book a tour. Come to Brazil.

lol i love ms cyrus, but celebrities are so self-absorbed. yeah people don’t understand how hard touring is but you also don’t understand what’s a 9 to 5 with no rest and recovery ever lol save it and just don’t tour and drop your songs

she won't understand

i can barely recover at night so i can work the next day

She can always do a mini tour , some dates so her fans have the chance to see her live and some casual listeners could connect with her and gain new fans

Yes Miley, having a job that your life is forced to revolve around is hard isn’t it :'( If only the rest of the world knew what that felt like

A normal human is working 5-6 days per week , 8-10 hours struggling to have summer vacation

Im sorry i love Miley but this is a joke

All the singers say they love to perform and they hate to record

If she wants to be a writer she can write for others

Touring for 3-4 months every 2-3 years doesn't make you non normal

MTE. If you work a full time job thats 8-10h + COMMUTING + house tasks + cooking/eating + exercising. That leaves you with only 2 free days a week where you have to run your errands and spend time with your family. Celebrities love to cry whey they have an entire team that take care of everything else. Artists have 2 duties while on tour: Rehearse and perform, there's literally nothing else, some even get their hair washed, hygiene tasks done by others, cooking, hotels, private planes, etc. I love her and I think she's humble but she clearly doesn't know what its like to like working class.

I would hate to tour as a musician too.

You lose your freedom, poor sleeping conditions, travel, repeat.

She already makes enough money from her songs alone, I respect her choosing happiness

Touring sounds horrible tbh

She doesn’t need to tour, she’s already a millionaire, I wouldn’t risk my mental health or health just to keep fans happy.

She has all the right to hate it

I think she’s dancing around the real issue and this is just a roundabout way of saying it’s too much pressure. Tours involve a lot of structure and planning. The show must go on. You can’t just cancel a show because you want to get drunk or high. You can’t take a mental health break because the media hates your new fling or because you got into a fight with a dancer. It’s the one time an artist has to be on their **** for a prolonged period of time, and hundreds of peoples’ jobs depend on it. I’m sure it’s hard for her and probably all the other artists who have had wild streaks or are prone to temptation. It requires a lot of discipline while being surrounded by a lot of enablers and possible triggers.

Lose sleep, mental health issues, traveling and being treated like a circus animal is not for everyone

She’s obviously privileged but she’s not forced to do something she doesn’t want to.

She owes nothing to her fans or anyone
