Nowadays, especially since 2018/2019, the artists with good album pure album sales are the ones who make cool physical albums, and sadly her products are just not worth the money. Why would anybody buy different versions of Positions when they all have the same cover? Why would anyone buy more than one TUN copy? She hasn't even done a photoshoot for TUN, which is her biggest album, she puts 0 effort and sadly I don't think she cares enough to improve. Its sad because I do think she could've been the biggest MPG of our generation if a lot more effort went into her career

She comes in second and the gap between her and Miley, which is the number one, is quite big. OT: Great numbers! Surprised by the solid units of Yours Truly, much more than I expected. It played the longevity game. Edited August 30, 2023 by Scars
KKCuteCat Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Is that higher than all of the ex-acts yet? I mean BB claimed that Miley shifted 30M units. But that's the shipment right?

But that's the shipment right? The units are coming from pure sales + EAS (equivalent album units). Quote Under the updated album equivalent ratios, 1,250 premium audio streams, 3,750 ad-supported streams, or 3,750 video streams are equal to one album unit. So to answer your question, no, Ariana isn't the highest-selling ex-act in the US, but her numbers are very impressive nonetheless. Miley has moved 30,7M units.

Don't you think that's too much EAS? Especially when Miley's streaming isn't exceptionally huge.

The streaming stats of her classics are great and she was a big download seller during her commercial prime, so there's a good chunk of song sales helping her numbers too. Despite the narrative pushed by some members from certain fanbases about Miley being a "fad" or whatever, hard data shows that'll take more effort to surpass her overall career. OT: Great numbers for Ariana!

Problem and Baby I's debuts were absolutely fantastic She didn’t promote ME and DW as albums tbh, more like overpromoted Problem, BB, Break free and STS, and the few times she could’ve had a chance of a big seller she messed up, SWT had a great cover and variants (the peach vinyl is so good and expensive) but she barely made copies of the good physical version and moved on to the next album so fast, and for her biggest body of work (TUN) she barely made a photoshoot and ended the era upon release, her pure numbers are meh
