I think it is growing a little bit on Tiktok. I saw a couple dance videos using the song this weekend on my fyp.

That won’t fill her arena shows btw, so we still won

even if that era flopped, she would still manage to have a sold out arena tour.

doja has built a reputation for being a amazing performer, it goes a long way nowadays. I mean tons of random festivals she did went viral because of her.

you tried though :giraffe:

Happy for Doja, this song is not my favorite of hers but I am starting to understand why it’s resonating so much. :clap3: It’s like I Like You part 2

Can she say one nice thing to her fans tho :rip:

When ATRL says someone is over they always get a smash right after :rip:

I knew she would be smashing again this era :clap3:

The way she won :jonnycat:

It wasnt lead single. Have you ever seen a lead single with no radio deal or not even sent to radio at all? It was a manifesto.

now c'mon, it's the first song she dropped from the new album with playlisting and a music video. sent to radios or not, it's the lead single to everyone except for the ppl who cannot admit it simply didn't connect. had it done that, they would've sent it to radios too.

The #1 Spotify peak won’t go unnoticed by RCA. I expect them to push hard in the next few weeks to ensure the best possible peak :clap3:

yeah it's crazy it hasn't happened yet but here's the list of peaks for comparison

Oh wow.

Also happy this happened without Luke and with a song where she’s mostly rapping.

Looks like they might have to find some new excuses and/or new places to move that goalpost.  :celestial5:

What you said is the definition of a PROMOTIONAL single whether you like it or not.

A single isn’t going to sustain itself on the charts if its not sent to radio, simply.

You’re right that it underperformed.  But we’re also right that it wasn’t the commercial lead, lol.  They didn’t want nor expect that song to carry the album.

Lead doesn’t just mean “the first song” in this context.  Artists drop buzz singles too (less common now, but it happens), not everything is meant to smash commercially.

Doja has made Sony/RCA so much money, and had very little investment upfront (thanks TikTok).  It’s not that surprising RCA would give her a bit of artistic freedom atp.

Don't know what this fuss about lead singles is about...
If anything y'all should be ecstatic your fave's second single smashed even when the first one flopped, that's not easy for most people :clap3:

Only because the song is smashing (ATRL switching as per)

Her tour is already over 90% sold out with no album announcement, release date and before she had a brewing smash hit for this era so I wouldn't bet on that if I were you.

Do you really think its profitable to put out a “lead single” without a push on the radio?

like… Paint the town red debuted with a multi format deal on the radio such as pop, rhythimic and urban.

Why would they do that?

Just because it was #1 on TTH doesnt mean it was the lead single as she said during her live instagram.

Even tho its a lead single it doesnt really matter anyways a hit issa hit.

Lack of heart and charts

not everyone can do that :clap3:

song is a bop tho!

Even more proof people just don't care if you make bops. People just don't care about personal lives if they can bop to it

these are some of the most confusing lines I've ever read on here lmao.

Pushing a song on the radio isn't profitable, radio deals cost a hella lot money.

I won't get into the 2nd quote at all, I'll just cackle and move on.

:clap3: Paint The Town Red is great so I’m not surprised to see Doja getting another hit
