Tweet dragging Taylor for carbon emissions and ecoterrorism goes viral

Y'all are so boring. If she did speak about climate change y'all would call it calculated and fake, when she's quiet y'all are mad again.

She's a celebrity. She has to jet around the world, just like every other one. What is she supposed to do, take a bike? :rip:

A tight schedule, safety and privacy

Do you guys remember one tweet that was like “Taylor getting a midnight snack from her kitchen” and it was a lady hanging onto a helicopter flying :ahh:

And the most liked reply right under it was someone saying “her going back to bed after the snack” and it was the helicopter video from above reversed so she was flying back in the direction she came from,

and right under that someone said “oops she forgot to turn the kitchen light off!” Or something like that and it was the helicopter going the first direction again

:ahh: Jesus that nearly burst my lungs from laughter

That was my favourite one :dies:

I cant remember the last time I actually laughed out loud over something I read on the internet until that

She has no problem staying hidden between eras. They put her in a car for safety yesterday. And they can schedule more strategically.

I get why she flies private but you can’t act like it’s the only option!

Do you have inside info of her whereabouts and the means of transportation she's using on a daily basis?

No but it seems like some of you saying she’s incapable of riding a car do! Share with the class…

i don’t get what ppl expect her to do … fly with common ppl ? like ..

Umm... some of the biggest stars in the world regularly fly on commercial flights and everything is just fine.

Taylor Swift flying commercial is a security and logistics nightmare and I think the world is genuinely better off that she doesn’t do that.  If the avg human could behave then she wouldn’t need to do things like this :gaycat5:

I don't really buy into that idea since plenty of other huge stars and public figures manage to do it and there are separate private terminals for high profile VIP's and they are taken onto the plane separately. If Taylor prefers to fly privately as she feels safer, that's fair and I don't think she should be demonised for that. But I think the point is the sheer amount of flights that seem unnecessary. Like when we heard about on her Rep Tour that she would fly home after every show instead of just staying in a hotel. I like Taylor so I don't want this to just be accused of hating on her, just trying to have a fair conversation.

They really said it with their chest all puffed out thinking that's a good thing. :rip: Taylor has some of the dumbest fans as evidenced by this thread unfortunately. But when you're one of the biggest stars, you unfortunately attract the most idiotic people.

In light of recent events - she'd be a flight risk if she flew economy class. Not to mention the absolute massive amount of content she's been working on that year

I remember Swifties saying that she mentioned that she flies to her nearest home in between shows. If that's not correct then apologies.

Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Britney, Madonna, have all been spotted flying commercially. Even members of the British royal family, Prince William and Kate (the future king and queen of England) fly commercial. Like I already said, I don't blame Taylor for using private jets and if she feels safer flying privately it's understandable and I understand the need to use them in certain circumstances, I'm talking about the amount of those flights and whether her celebrity status stops her being able to ever fly commercially. But I should also state, Taylor is far from the only celebrity doing this and it's unfair to put all of the blame on her.

The guy is a whacky right-winger but some of the "it's not about individual carbon footprints!!!! focus on the corporations!!" posts feel reactionary and miss out on the point of the inherent corruption of capitalism that some individual human beings have carbon footprints akin to large corporations.

And that while, yes, not one person's individual contributions should be the focus on tackling climate catastrophe, the same applies then when discussing the issues of wealth redistribution and resource hoarding.

If no one individual is too bad an evil to be singled out as the cause of harm, no one individual is too good and honest of a human to be singled out as somehow justified in their riches. That having hundreds of millions of dollars from singing little songs is just as much an issue of wealth hoarding as accumulating such wealth from other means.

Taylor Swift isn't the reason for global warming but she and all other rich people should probably have a 90% tax rate, yes.

Behind all this outrage there's a deep contradiction. We want Taylor (and other pop singers) to be this larger-than-life entertainer and cultural phenomenon, then in the same breath attack the necessary realities that come with moving through the world as a person with such an unnatural extreme level of fame.

I mean, look at what happened when she simply showed up to a bar for her friend's wedding rehearsal. A dangerous mob scene formed that required police to disperse. Anyone who's being honest with themselves realizes there is no safe or practical way for Taylor to travel via public means at this point in time.
