I mean it’s a great song, but myself, like many others, wrote it off as a flop upon release because of the sound and her recent singles’ trajectory. Now it’s on track to become one of the top female songs of the year and the biggest song from the most eventful movie of the year. Her second #1 in the UK too, right? I’ve been saying for a while not to count her out and that she’ll rebound to at least some degree. Exactly. When an artist has it, you can never count them out. The explosiveness of her debut was obviously not going to last forever, but she's developed into something much more interesting and I can't wait to see where she goes from here. 1

Take away the extreme promo, radio payola and playlisting and she is nothing. Meanwhile Billie has actual star power. You see Dua battling for a #1 and concludes that she’s not a star?
WitnessOblivia Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 ODH are truly delusional Anyway, what an amazing top 2
Shaner69 Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 (edited) Oddly this kinda worked out for both girls. Alot of people were wrong. Billie's best chance at #1 was infact last week. This tracking period on metrics Dua is trending up and ahead on all still. Billie is trending down on all metrics. Both girls look to be getting the moment they deserve unless some strange last minute tactics play a role again. Olivia is supposed to ship on album release day which makes sense. Cassettes are a much bigger market in UK then CD singles. Dua needs to get some printed and she can sign them on the beach. Get to work girl even though she shouldn't need them. I hope all three get there. Edited August 19, 2023 by Shaner69 1
Obsession Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 (edited) Dua is only as valuable as her viability to generate hits and she doesn't do anything to establish a fanbase (seemingly on purpose), so inevitably in moments like these, there's no real fanbase there for these stunts to pay off. BloodLuster Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 see when you have an actual base and not some bored gays behind you 2
BloodLuster Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 b-b-but the hitmaker of gen z !11!!1!!! 1 4
newaespa Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Not surprised at Stadium act Billie Eilish winning yet again
thetea Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Dua has a much smaller fanbase so this didn't come as a surprise. Billie's tactics were somewhat shady though, she should've released that cassette next week so that dance the night and what i'm made for could go #1. two #1 singles off the barbie soundtrack would've been better than one.
LittleFreak Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 Congrats to Billie! Hopefully Dua gets it next week too. 3
Blackout2006 Posted August 23, 2023 Posted August 23, 2023 What's the story about the cassettes? Anyway, I'm not surprised but I'm so happy Billie got her second top hit on the UK chart It's undoubtedly the biggest hit from the Barbie soundtrack. 1 1 1

She has always been a Trojan horse that way. It reminds me of that time when Olivia and Doja's albums were battling for the top spot on the BB200. ATRLers were picking either one of their sides and when the results were out, Billie snooped in and just swept the #1 to everyone's shock; cuz nobody was expecting it to have a bump in its 3rd week

Arcadius Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Seeing people argue over Billie vs. Dua is hilarious when both songs come from the same album. Barbie is the actual winner! 1
