Yvess Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 @Invisibility ย Final Appeal Throughout my journey in the season, I've experienced the whole range of reception, as a true versatile artistรฉ. I started setting extremely high expectations for FKA, if I do say so myself, being consistently within the top 3 tabs for almost all of the first five rounds! All the while my entries sparked a strong reaction; whether praise for being otherworldly, unique and enchanting, or question if twigs was coming out of an autopsy, calling the songs out being basic flops, etc. For a TABS, I feel like eliciting strong fellings, as raw as my artist's performances have, is more important than only looking to easily please, which isn't a bad thing by itself, but is unexciting when it's the only facet of an artist. ย Visually, my entries have been feasts. Composition, dance, intention, metaphor, styling and color are all important elements that twigs orchestrates through her explorations of grief, femininity, sexuality, nature and spirituality in her looks, music videos and photoshoots. I know I've tried to show different sides of that, where one beauty shot thrives in Victorian aesthetics and maximalism, while the other is a photoshopped body horror-esque nude photo. But above all, with them I showed that my artist can and will sell a concept whenever the opportunity arises! ย Sonically, throughout prompts that led us to send summer songs or sad songs, to eclectically competing with color-coded songs, or building girl group debut singles, variety could be expected with me. twigs is a believer in pulling inspiration from disparate places, and every whispery vocal could soon follow a distorted, pitched-down one, every layered angelic backing vocal by a fast-paced spoken word delivery. When it'd be easy to try and pin her down as just art pop, r&b, trip-hop or electronica, she introduces an orchestral, jazz or industrial element to throw your balance off your feet. An offbeat to command your attention and draw it towards herself. ย And performance-wise... what can I say? One of the strongest dancers of the season, FKA twigs swordfights, pole dances like no other, vogues, does ballet, tap dances and dreamily sways her limbs and body to any kind of situation needed. She will never conform to the expected, bringing up something new when you watch her and, like I tried to showcase with my performance entries, is always hungry for giving 110%. Which results in her progressively polishing her stage presence which I hope I was able to reflect. ย I also had my low moments, like the pairs twist when I signed a contract with the ghost of Nicki Minaj, and I faced some of my most difficult rounds even when the prompt was designed for submitting a solo entry. This included my misunderstanding with the bridges round, the lukewarm response to our girl group single and also the final flop in my coffin with the Fear photo/song combo. Which reflects how I had a period of learning and bettering my entries to really come back in top form. ย This top form let me truly shine once the Elite Circle phase started, and the no-elimination format allowed me to once again make my artist shine and win in five out of the past six rounds! I love stats yes I do. For all of this, I've shown growth, yet been consistent when it came down to delivering thought-provoking entries and always staying true to the emotional core of my artist, like no other. 1 1

Even with the score slayage, I escaped any elimination during the times I bottomed.ย ย Against all odds, I was able to slay with a superstar who I am not familiar with.ย ย Perhaps... iconic! I got to learn about the Bizcochito-rapstress as much as everyone of you. That said, I started with legs up ready to be fckd. She sings in a lot of languages, can sing, dance, play guitar, piano, drums, produce, write, choreograph, has charisma, stage presence and has a natural beauty and also, sheโs humble. And my entries show that despite some sabotage from some judges and contestants. Thereโs a reason why on her 30 year career Shakira hasnโt met a total flop and is still smashing with her songs that have made the world sing not only in English but also in Spanish through all of her styles: the Latin rock chick, the blonde with quirky yet clever lyrics, the sad and intense one, the belly dancing girl, the barefoot chick, the sexy diva, the reggaetonera and the empowered divorced one the conquer the world again. All of these styles and reinvent but her essence keeps being the same as the start. Shakira is an icon, a legend and is an ambassador of the Latin community. Sheโs our world leader and she has won that reign with hard work and perseverance. She was born in Colombia to a middle class family, had two albums when she was a minor without success then she gained recognition and went to the States without knowing any of English and learnt from a dictionary, released Whenever, Wherever and the rest was HERSTORY. Thereโs no place in the world where Shakira isnโt known. Thereโs no Shakira song that comes on the radio and people didnโt say โoh thatโs Shakiraโ, because her voice is unique, her style is unique and she is just the global superstar known for her talent, beauty, hips and personality.ย ย Thatโs why I chose this performance, because it mixes all of the Shakira eras while showcasing her talent, energy, charisma and her superstar persona. On this performance we can see all of her roots and skills being shown with class while executed well. A true pop star. And an unique one. 1 1

Starting this Tournament a while back months ago, I had no idea what I was signing up for but I quickly adapted and did my best with each round's brief. Along my adventure to this finale, it's truly been an honor getting to know & workย flawlesslyย together with ALL of my Camp Fierce sisters as I really have to majorly credit our alliance for taking me to the end here! Without you all,ย @Dessyย @blackoutbabyย @Hey Dudeย @Legend Eย @dejmieeenย @Queen.ย I feel like this game would've played very differently for Tee, so I'm hoping to win this in honor of Camp Fierce! #CampFierce4Everย ย Besides polarizing Judgeโs scores/critiques & the drama this season had, Tinashe did not allow any of that to affect her entries nor run here. She maintained excelling & winning the first Tiara challenge, SJ's Flappy Dodo Bird & the random post challenge with both Tiara plays paying off as well. Tee also became unstoppable onceย paired up with THEE Rosalรญa,ย @Kylie Verzosa! Working with another Musician that produces Alternative music couldn't have been a better pairing setup by the TABS Gods as Nashelรญa entries SERVED every round too! Tinashe proved that amicably working with another competitor from a rival camp pays off extremelyย well; especially winning the Girl Group Round with introducing the Stellar Singer-Rapping Violinist, Sudan Archives! Through my diverse entries ranging from high fashion serves, slide show performances to mix-tapeย songs & even unreleased songs as well (Prisoner the Hit that got Away), all my unique risk-taking entries have paid off getting me here & winning the Ultimate TABS title! I've evaded getting eliminated, won challenges/rounds, participated in all 18 rounds & have successfully showcased how hard Tinashe is WINNING more by being independent & not relying on a major label! She's a fighter that continues to surpass expectationsย since dropping Songs for You, then the critically acclaimed 333 & continues to do so with her recent project, BB/ANG3L! Her career is a testament to how Star Power, Charisma & Self Sufficiency are the key ingredients to ooze TABS effortlessly marking an impactful career that many in the Music industry are still inspired by today!
