airplane Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) For “verification” purposes of course, which will be shared with a third party app. No confirmation yet on whether this would be mandatory or optional. Is this the final nail in the coffin for the bird app? Edited August 16, 2023 by airplane 1
Afterglow Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Quote "I consent to 'X' sharing photos of my ID" you gotta be insane to support that. 1 11
Slayn Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 If you can’t use the app without doing this then goodbye mr musk! 3
Illuminati Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 I guess it depends on how enforced this will be. Services like Google and Facebook already ask for government ID in some cases. 1 3
Taylena Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 This is only if you choose to have your blue verified account, right?
Daddy Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Whoever stays on that shitty platform is insane. What's it gonna take?
commander Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Nobody has time for that lol. Funny how corporations want to act like their own little authoritarian utopia.

James_Dean Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 Is this for tax purposes? Like if you're generating income from your tweets? Either way it's ******* stupid.

I think it’s mandatory for people with twitter blue (the paid subscription) or if someone is sending a dm to someone they don’t follow but i’m not sure yet. The feature is rolling out soon though Edited August 16, 2023 by airplane
Walk_Away21 Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 (edited) You know what, **** it, I lowkey approve of this. People have been sending death threats behind anonymity for too long. Users have proven they can't be trusted to be civil. You can always delete your account if you don't want to do it. This already came to LinkedIn I believe. Edited August 16, 2023 by Walk_Away21 2 2
