I think it’s mandatory for people with twitter blue (the paid subscription) or if someone is sending a dm to someone they don’t follow but i’m not sure yet. The feature is rolling out soon though

You know what, **** it, I lowkey approve of this. People have been sending death threats behind anonymity for too long. Users have proven they can't be trusted to be civil. You can always delete your account if you don't want to do it. This already came to LinkedIn I believe.
