But we are criticising the company for literally outsourcing what they themselves are supposed to do; pay the wages of their employees?

Like how are you going to bother random people with the demand of paying YOUR workers :skull: make it make sense

That’s not by and large what I see across this site any time a thread like this is made. Simply saying “I shouldn’t have to tip” does not equate to “companies need to pay their employees more so I don’t have to tip”. And even saying that does nothing. You can’t claim to believe that and then continue to give these companies your money, knowing they pay their employees nothing, and then proceed to not tip the underpaid workers because “companies need to just pay them more!”. I mean, this isn’t hard to understand :rip:

So can I remove the tip if they didn't follow instructions?

But... that's their primary job; that's what they applied for. That's what they were hired to do. I don't understand why I should have to tip them for delivering my food.”

i dont understand why customers have to pay workers on the companies behalf either

how is that lacking empathy?

Well I don’t, I don’t live in the US so all service companies I use do pay their employees a fair wage, and I always tip them because it is a service. However criticising companies that abuse their power to underpay employees and outsource their duty onto customers is totally legitimate, even when using the services of said company

Okay so you agree with my whole point? Good. :rip:

Who is disagreeing with you? Customers shouldn’t HAVE to because the company should be. But the company isn’t so if you don’t like tipping for a service, then don’t use the service which directly impacts the business and holds them accountable, instead of using the service, making the worker do something for you, and then giving your money to the exploitative company but instead screwing over the front line worker. This isn’t hard to understand. Either you lack empathy for others or you’re not understanding my point.
