Elecciones 2023.

Far-right liberal Javier Milei (52) won Argentina primary elections with 30% of votes in his favor. Following the news, the candidate posted a video explaining his plans for his potential Presidency:

Reduce the State; eliminate 11 of 19 Ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Education, Environment, Science, Tourism and Women/LGBT Rights.

Privatice all State-funded institutions, including schools, hospitals, Public TV, INCAA (National Institute of Visual Arts), INADE (National Institute Against Discrimination, Xenophobia and Racism), among others

Dollarization of the economy and elimination of the Central Bank.

Eliminate all subsidies of services, including public transport.

Strengthen Armed Forces and legalize gun possession.

On second place lands Patricia Bullrich (right-wing) who served as Minister of Security during Mauricio Macri's Presidency.

It’s almost as if these people want Argentina to stump further into destruction.

Predictable. They want an economy miracle so they will go for anything if it's different than what theu currently have. They will come back to the left next elections... But i think no one really knows how to fix it. Left, Right, Center.

It's ******* scary. Even if he doesn't win, Bullrich is the most likely candidate to become president and, even though she's not as insane as he is, she's still a right-wing moron. I don't know what's gonna happen but it's terrifying.

Oh that’s not :deadbanana2: who on their right mind would vote for all of that

This is nothing but a rebuke of the current terrible economic situation in Argentina. The voters (wrongly) assume that it's due to leftwing policies :michael:

This should be in the Civics section @Bloo @Ryan

Anyways this is awful, but it isn't surprising and nothing new. Capitalism will turn to fascism if it feels its power threatened to avoid a socialist revolution, it even happened in the most powerful country on earth just a few years ago. It's sad, but it is the reality we live in today.

When he inevitably makes things worse, will their people continue blaming minorities for everything despite voting for a government against them?

I thought CFK would run again for her third term

Dollarization of the economy and elimination of the Central Bank.

 :toofunny3:

"American Dollar, a foreign currency, has a huge impact and influence in our local economy. Our wealthy and upper to middle class citizens resort to use dollar in their everyday lives, which is partly responsible for the evergoing cycle of desvalorization of our national currency and impacting negatively our economy even more. What should we do to restore our country and take full ownership of our own economy?"

"...WELL, GET RID OF THE ARGENTINE PESO, OF COURSE, AND GO ALL OUT WITH THE DOLLARIZATION OF OUR ECONOMY! WE LOVE 'MURICA! I'M SO SMART!"

 :toofunny3:

His entire campaign is focused on red scare nonsense, such as "gender and sexual minorities are all evil commies!!! Argentina is poor and starving, we don't have money to spend on progressive bullshit!!" and "Evil China wants to enslave us! We're cutting all this with them!", but then proceeds to push for the most ineffective, played out, little-*****-of-the-imperalist-master, economy-wrecking policy possible. :toofunny3:

**** is genuinely sad to see.
