This, it doesn’t sound like lead material

She need to release a straight rap lead single that is NOT a sample because I'm really tired of her singing and using other instrumentals from other artists.

Exactly. It might debut high because the Barbz are organised but it’ll at best have a Pills n Potions run. All of her more radio friendly songs do so well on the charts so I don’t know why she would choose to lead with this. Like look at Super Bass, Starships, Truffle Butter, Only, SFG… none of them sound similar but they all have hooks that people can pick up. Save the introspective/relationship songs for the album, release the fun things like literally every other successful artist has ever done.

Your Love was a lead. Pills n Potions was a lead. Ganja Burn was supposed to be a lead before the video leaked, if I’m not mistaken. She’s always done this.

I’m not mad. The lines for what a “lead” is are all blurred these days anyway. Technically, it’s SFG.

She literally hasn’t released a singing single in a long ass time, let’s relax without even hearing it first

Does that really confirms that it will be releasing on the Friday, just because she liked it?

It’s just annoying because she has so much momentum and hype going into it so why squander it all with a weird single choice? She doesn’t even have to release something raunchy like SFG or Anaconda, or something fun like Super Bass or Barbie World. Doja is smashing worldwide with a song about toxic online stan culture, but it’s catchy, which is the most important part for pretty much every single, especially the first new thing we’re hearing exclusively for the album.

We’ve heard like half of it probably :priceless: I’ll be more than happy to eat crow if it’s a success but given the past with single choices like this…

going for something left field and not predictable is exactly what she needs to do right now, we want the artistry!

it sounds catchy to me and has another well known sample

this is something that pop radio can play and fits into all the big playlists on spotify which i think is the point

she already did the hip hop lead with dwhap

Drake better not be dropping next Friday too. I feel like she wouldn't drop this the same day as Drake (she must know when he's dropping if she's got a song on his album)

Drake better quit playing and drop that album tomorrow. Dont want him to drop the same day as this song or GUTS

There’s no way they’re releasing the same day

Girl, I had no idea this was a sample until someone pointed it out so…

This seems like a great single for fall, plus it's something different from Nicki. Also it's catchy af from the snippet. I'm sure she'll release another rap single before the album drops.

Simple, just go Stan Doja?

Everyone loves it and it sounds great. Your just gonna have to sit this one out if its not your taste, dont bog down other fans because its not your cup of tea.

And the crazy thing is this isn’t even remotely left field, it’s not like she’s putting out a 7 minute long Arca produced two part behemoth… like :rip: people are so dramatic lol

This is exactly it then. She had a pure-rap lead with Chun-Li, DWHAP and We Go Up released last year, and RRDS as the promo single earlier this year...she's due for a pop rap track if she wants one.

no we haven't.... nicki already clocked people who claimed the song sounds like one of her older songs by saying this was only a snippet and that it doesn't. just relax.

I get that nicki should've came back with a rap single, but I see the vision.

We need a very radio friendly song that can impact all stations so she can be played. A rap song was not gonna feature that. And this is a statement right here for Nicki.

Releasing a pop single is very smart, she haven’t had one in a very long time.
