Where do you live? Do you like it?

I got a remote job and plan on moving in a few months, probably shortly after the New Year. Where do ATRLers live and do you like it there?

I live in Indiana. It's awful here.

I lived in Indiana for a year and had my own apartment, the apartment was nice but I hated the people and honestly Indiana sucked so.. not really.

I'm now currently staying at my moms on the east coast while in between houses. I'm staying on the east coast, and applying for apartments currently.

So overall, I am not happy with where I live rn :mazen:

Vitoria - Brazil. It's not a famous city, but i 100% love it here, it's so beautiful and it's not small but also not big, just perfect. Wouldn't change for nothing. It's actually an Island and that's why it's so beautiful.

And it's very close to Rio and São Paulo so i'm always ""close"" (fast flight) to the bigger cities and can be there for a weekend or so without living the chaos.

Against: It's a kinda conservative place and people can be narrow-minded. But once u find ur group u're more than fine. There's places to go!

A small city in the Netherlands. I like the Netherlands but I want to a bigger city like Amsterdam, Utrecht or Rotterdam. In small cities it's difficult to find places to hang out and vibe.

Currently living in Oakland near Lake Merritt.

I work in San Francisco. I'm loving the Bay consistant

weather and I've only been here since October so

there's  many things I haven't explored / the places I

DO know are solid. I'm still in a "do I actually live here"

headspace overall.

I relocated to Dublin 6 years ago. Like anywhere else there are highs and lows to living here but I am pretty pleased both professionally and personally wise.

That being said, I LOVE Ireland as a country.

Same sis, relocated to Dublin in 2021 from Croatia, it can be a mess and not really a fan of the inner city but overall I am fine with it. Ireland itself is very lovely outside of Dublin.

As for my home country, I would LOVE to live there if I could but I am not a fan of the close minded people and the overall atmosphere that is there, especially in smaller places. I love the rest of it though.

I live in Atlanta. I live in one of the very walkable parts so it’s great, but the traffic and lack of good public transportation are big drawbacks for people.

Guadalajara, Mexico. It’s fine here but Mexico as a country.. :biblionny: not the best

New England, it has great aspects, lots of history, shorelines, access to Boston, NYC and New Jersey for events and concerts and liberal. It lacks diversity though and can be pretty expensive.

I live in Buenos Aires. It's a gorgeous city and I love being able to experience it, but i do get tired of how chaotic it is sometimes and the economic situation is genuinely terrible, which greatly hinders the quality of life.

Melbourne, it’s generally a great place to live with lots to do, a good food scene, wide range of job opportunities and the most multi-cultural city I’ve been too. Some things could be better and it is so far from everywhere but overall I love it.

Oh yeah I rarely set foot in the inner city, tbh. Like whenever I have friends over I try to show them that Dublin goes beyond Temple Bar, the Docklands, Grafton St and so on. Dun Laoghaire, Howth, Malahide and Bray are lovely areas that are often overlooked by tourists.

I’d say I’d be more inclined to hang out at night in the likes of Ranelagh or Portobello than the city center itself tbh.

As for Croatia I was actually making plans to visit this summer. I was supposed to fly to Split and then drive along the Adriatic coast all the way down to Popovic, past Dubrovnik. But then again, I guess visiting Croatia as a tourist and living there are completely different but just wanted to put it out there that your home country looks gorg.

I live in Italy in the amalfi/sorrento coast/pompeii/naples area, I love it here but I hate a good chunk of the population due to their mindset, our politics, and the lack of opportunities.

On one hand I would want to live somewhere else because it pisses me off to see how things work here, on the other I fear it's just impossible to find a nicer place to live, as I can be in dreamy places in 30-60 minutes whenever I need a break. I couldn't imagine living in a place with no sea in my neighborhood, without our landscapes, our food, our social life and everything we take for granted here.

I live in South Central Louisiana, being originally from New Orleans. And it's alright, it has its issues like anywhere else. It's what you make of it. People here are generally polite, even if it's fake. Public transportation is a joke. I wish I didn't have to drive everywhere I needed to go.

Denver, Colorado

honestly yeah I do like it! it's fun and the people I've met have been awesome. I lived in Boulder for 7 years, and in about a week, it'll be the 8th anniversary of me being in Colorado proper. I like it a lot here. Boulder is gorg but 7 years there, especially for a young and beautiful person like me, is too much. it's WAY too small for a 20 something or 30 something year old imo, I don't get how people could want to live there full-time until they retire or are at least in their 40s lol

I lived in Boulder for 7 years for school, and then I moved down here. and I really like it but I know for a FACT that it isn't where I'm meant to end up. I'm meant to end up further west I think. the only thing that ever draws me back east is my family and a few long-time close friends, but otherwise ew. f*ck Maryland. I understand why my parents wanted to raise me and my sibs there but it's not a good place to live full-time. I'm thinkin Seattle or Portland or even norcal or Calgary for me next (my best friend lives in Calgary and tells me everyday how much I'd love it, I'm visiting him in December)
