Lippredicts said this was also BEFORE the massive radio update so I assume the gap is even bigger. Can’t wait to thread this on Monday

feels like she's in ha Born This Way era, #1 hit debut, bad idea right? being her Judas, which means her The Edge Of Glory is coming :coffee2:

the difference is her singles and GUTS will have legs, Born This Way (the album) was such a frontloaded mess :rip:

Born This Way the album is 4 x Platinum, the singles are 18 x platinum, it was a massive era. I love Olivia but GUTS won't reach that:rip:

Still, the album itself could have sold WAYYY much more. It sold 2.3m pure copies in the US with almost 50% of them from the first week alone. You can not really compare the sales because it's two different eras but longevity-wise GUTS will perform better.

who’s to say it won’t :deadbanana4:

we’ve only heard 2 songs from the album so far. the great thing about GUTS not having a g4u moment yet is that there could be an album track that pull a “traitor” or “happier” and be actually more successful / not peak by album release.

Not true, Billboard reported it sold 2.5m in the US, as of March 2022, and it is eligible for 5x Platinum in the US, frontloaded my ass :dies:

OT : glad this secured a top 10 debut

Girl, the only female albums that reached 4 x Platinum in the last 5 years were Thank U Next, Billie's debut and Sour. I think Guts will most likely be a Sweetener sized era, since Vampire preformed similar to NTLTC, but we'll see.

ok true yeah, it will be difficult. but it’s not impossible. if we’re gonna based off vampires & bir, it does seem far but Olivia seems to be an album artist rather than quick singles.

i hope her team does play the long run game as well for this era. if SOUR’s still getting good streams, why won’t those listeners stream GUTS as well..

@Hot Volcano it's frontloaded for an album that opened +1.1m copies :rip: it's the least-selling album within the +1m first week calibers and spent only 61 weeks on chart :rip:

Isn't Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience or something the least selling 1M+ first week album? It barely sold 2M.

Now you know damn right how it opened with 1.1m. If you take into consideration it was supposed to open at ~800k, then a 2.5m total is not bad at all.  :coffee2:

I know damn right and I still stand by my point, overall it's not bad but as a follow-up to the biggest debut album of the century it's sooooo underwhelming and yes it's still frontloaded :rip:

First of all, you've been an OGH for years, how hard is to change your username and profile pic? Are you 50 or something?

Secondly, again, TFM sales were added to TF's pure album sales as it was sold as a re-issue, so basically who albums combined. YOu have to put things into context to have a normal discussion :coffee2:

NOT YOU SAYING THAT I'VE NEVER CHANGED MY USERNAME MY ENTIRE LIFE PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :rip:

Overall, BTW is still frontloaded cause The Fame were still selling well each week before the reissues. Had Born This Way not opened with such huge first week sales to make up for its total, it would have been such an underwhelming number as I said :rip:

Top10s WW for an promo single, yes :clap3:
