because they need to gaslight themselves into believing she’s white so they can somehow accuse her of being successful bc of white privilege 

 

it’s funny cause she has some very clear asian features due to her philliphines heritage and most of her roles in tv shows have been characters that have an asian background so it was pretty clear to tv producers as well.

She doesn't benefit from white privilege I agree but I think it's more about lookism here and it does play a factor of her success since she's more on the meztisa filipina side, that doesn't take away from her immense talent and song writing tho.
