Also werent you the user comparing Solar Power to kate bush’s The dreaming?? Sit this one out please 💀

You mean when I said that they both were panned flops that represented a turning point in each of these acclaimed artists careers? Yes lol But I don’t see how that’s anything to do with Olivia

This transiting into vampire on the album is so bizarre.

This is a faster and more punkish brutal.

as if that wasn’t the thing in SOUR :rip: people found it bizarre already & if this truly sounds messy, kinda perched how far she’d go with the album not sounding like what the gp expects.

This isn’t the second single right? Hope it’s just a promo song and she has a better song planned for single #2.

Olivia is clearly making pop rock to the likes of early Demi Lovato and Kelly Clarkson — and she’s doing it pretty well. By calling it “alternative” you’re just trying to make it distant from pop music as if pop couldn’t be just as good or respected. Nothing “alternative” about Olivia. And that’s okay!

Honey you are misunderstanding everything. And yes you do think Lorde is alternative because I remember you arguing with me because I called Melodrama a pop record….. VIVIDLY. You were also arguing that against Billie Eilish, downplaying her impact. I remember you said only Lorde was praised by legends like Bowie when Billie was acclaimed by Radiohead (just as legendary) lol

I don’t need Olivia to be an alt girl because its superior to pop. She already has shown that she has interest in alt music and would take her music down that path. The only people surprised when she brings these flavors to her pop music are those that undersell them. She has made very clear where her taste lies and she will accommodate her music to that the more time passes. She’s 19 and she’s already exploring things her pop peers are not doing….. she’s touching references her peers (Tate, Sabrina, GAYLE, etc) are not. So YES i will praise her for bringing these references to her music and not delivering dull records

It sounds nothing like NDA but it's her NDA era because it'll either be a song the gp absolutely hates or absolutely loves. Interested to see how this SMASH performa:ducky:

It’s up to the GP.  I wouldn’t mind this being single 2 because it’s great

No when you said that was too ahead of its time like The Dreaming and would be praised in years and we didn’t understand it and we all called you delusional. At least i’m bringing actual facts that happened to Olivia in why she flirts with alt music

OH WOW

Not what I was expecting at all. I thought it was going to be more "chart friendly" but it does sound like a risky choice. I love that she doesn't seem to be too chart obsessed. Love a risk-taker :clap3:

on my first listen, it doesn't sound like a catchy song to me. It sounds like nothing on charts right now.

How are y’all writing paragraphs about a cute fun buzz single? It’s fun and it’s just something for the girls to enjoy this summer, g*ddamn.

“Oh, yes, I know that he's my ex But can't two people reconnect?

I only see him as a friend I just tripped and fell into his bed”

This is a great, smooth, poppy bop? I truly don't understand the reactions here at all. I was expecting something really extreme, this is just cute and very pleasant listening with a few drums added in
