First listen

A - Paint the town red. THIS IS HOW you sample and maintain integrity and artistry without sounding sellout. Doja always shows artistry in pop which makes her the standout.

B+ - Demons Video A+ though

C+ - Wet V Forgettable.

B - F the girls. Cute but it doesn't go anywhere for me.

A- - Ouchies. I love the energy. It reminded me of something a Philly or New York female rapper would have spit in the late 90s/early 00s...in a good way

A - 97. I KNEW this would be my favorite from the tracklist.

B+- Gun. Catchy. It is solid but I'll need more time with it.

A - Go off

B+ - Shutcho

B - Agora hills This will do well on top 40 but I'm not feeling it that much. I still want to see a visual

A+ - Can't wait. LOVE THIS. It's giving 90s Mary J Blige meets pop.

C - Often. I literally forget the song was on. Not a fan. It's cute.

B+ - Love life. Solid album track but not single material.

A - Skulls and Bones. She better go off. Like this a lot but as an album track. I don't care to see a visual.

B+ - Attention everyone hates the chorus but love the verses and it's the opposite for me.

A - Balut. Love it

C - WYM Freestyle. Oh that's not...

I want a visual for 97, Go off, Agora hills, Can't wait.

Top 5: Can't wait, Paint the town red, 97, Balut, and Go off

What I want as singles: Can't wait, Go off, Agora hills

Overall B first listen with the potential to reach B+.

Hot Pink > Planet Her> Scarlet >Amala and each album is good.

Oooooh Ouchies is giving Ms. Jade/Eve. Great ear.

Ok…I take back what I said.

“Shutcho” can definitely be removed LOL.  But I understand it tying together the halves of the album…but still I’ll prob skip.

I can’t believe y’all dislike 97, it’s prob one of my favorites.  Production is 🤌🏾

I almost wish they did release this in two albums, b/c I like both vibes…I’ll probably listen to each half on it’s on depending on my mood though.

Wait she really sounds like Nivea on “Can’t Wait” I looooove this

She sounds so much like Erykah on “Often” we sure she not doing background vocals? :rip:

“Love Life” is probably my favorite of the last half honestly (outside of “Balut”).

Well apparently people wanted her to self produce all the tracks + not sample in order for it to be considered “self written” per yesterdays thread.

As their faves have up to 20 songwriters per album and no production credits?

The r&b half is incredible. I think the first half will have to grow on me

The only song I haven’t heard yet on my first full listen is WYM Freestyle and this is a really solid effort. Often & Love Life could’ve been left off. They don’t really add much, and Can’t Wait executes their vibe much more effectively and concisely.

Going to need more time to digest, but I’d give 7.5/10 on first listen.

Faves (in track list order): PTTR, Demons, Ouchies, 97, Gun, Shutcho, Agora Hills, Can’t Wait, Skull & Bones, Attention, Balut

What’s the 2 new songs? I’m too lazy to find the original track list (which I’m sure is on the first page of this thread )

——————————

Ima RUN Agora Hills into the GROUND :WAP:  I still have to listen to tracks 11-17 but this is my favorite so far.

My fav songs from her projects this far are:

Purr: So High

Amala: Candy

Hot Pink: Streets

Planet Her: Been Like This/Imagine

Scarlet: Agora Hills

I like Can’t Wait but not better than Agora Hills

Demons has grown on me SO fast, in the context of the whole album it’s one of the most interesting tracks. The beat and loop in the chorus is so fun to listen to

denying there are some major trap influences in a lot of the songs is kind of dumb :deadbanana2:

808's were a major piece of  Hip Hop production before there was ever a Trap genre.
