Ghibli revealed absolutely nothing about it aside from its source material

Literally no screen grabs, trailers, or even a press conference, all basic things necessary to promote a film :rip:

It did amazing first weekend though, it's just having mediocre word of mouth. It's not a family movie and probably just not as accessible as previous Ghibli films

I can't wait for it :duca:

Seems like Ghibli's official Twitter is starting to introduce the characters one by one. Better late than never I suppose...

Saw the movie last night.

Based solely on animation it's stunning. As for characters... eh. No one in particular stood out but overall I did like the movie. Saw it in Japanese but will probably check out the English dub too.

Coming for #1 at the North American box office :duca:

Just came out of it! It was cute. Needs a rewatch. Very ambitious, I can see why not everyone will “get it,” but it’s a visual feast and it felt amazing to watch new classic Ghibli in 2023. It was like coming home.

it says f*** the nazis f*** the ivory tower f*** the greedy men who profit off wars and f*** the patriarchy all wrapped up in a post-trauma teenage fever dream :WAP: wish the plot and the story teller would be tighter tho...

Really enjoyed it, very beautifully done and adult.

You can tell they change the movie structure half-way but after an hour, I let myself carried away without over-analyzing too much.

Really enjoyed the last scene with the two doors... emotions were sincere.

What is this twitter take on the movie? :rip: I don't know if this is a joke post but is this what you took away from the movie?

This was exquisite, still thinking about the movie and the themes even though it's been days since seeing it.

This was truly an epic movie, easily the best of 2023. :worship: Ghibli has done it again. :clap3:
