Idk I’m kinda glad the droplets aren’t on the EP as it makes me feel like the EP actually has a theme rather than her just throwing everything on there, but I do feel like not including Better Thangs is a missed opportunity to just use a Summer Walker feature to bring in some extra streams in case her fans missed it the first time lol. That song coming out in September made no sense anyway as it’s got a summer vibe. 
 

Either way it doesn’t really matter in the streaming age and I doubt it’s going to get a physical release anyway.

You do realize that Ciara became independent and started her own label first before Tinashe right?

 

ciara also released a solo song independently and it just went 2X platinum. So we at the very least already works for Ciara. Can’t speak for others though

i hear you but yall have been dragging her recent uptempos for being cookie cutter and wanting more vibey sexy stuff so what is it that yall want because yall end up being just as confused as she is as an artist

if that's the case then that sucks because if theirs one thing i hate is standalone singles but i understand in situation like that it's red tape ugh. i say if that's not the case then i don't see why not just tack them onto here and call it an album. ciara hasn't been a chart and numbers girl for a while now so why would she be all of the sudden and why should that matter at this point? it's only 3 tracks if we're including da gurlz so it isn't exactly cutting your losses how you're putting it. there should be no pressure of selling an album because she's been doing this for 20 years and has been past her commercial peak for sometime now. release a solid body of work with quality tracks and tour like most legacy acts do and keep your fans happy. if a hit comes cool if it doesn't also shouldn't be the end of the world. especially if she's independent and just doing this just because.

nothing is wrong with the title cici it's been a popular nickname and trademark of hers since the beginning of her career

nothing wrong with the title and the official cover which is an actual slay just dropped and is fantastic

adding rooted, jump and better thangz isn't gonna kill you or hurt her. at the end of the day they were still released and are serviceable compared to the likes of da gurlz which should've never seen the light of day. the dancehall remix was cute though. it's the biggest pet peeve of mine when artist invest and release singles and don't put them on a body of work based on reception. at the end of the day time and money was spent on it. she clearly likes the songs or else wouldn't have released them for better or worse. and for the listeners they can just do the common sense thing and skip or just not listen to those tracks already.

this is not her debut. she's a legacy act at this point. her legacy is her foundation lol what she needs to do is work on quality and be more consistent in that regards when it comes to her releases is all

she's supposedly working on new material that we should be getting soon outside of the ep so their is that

yeah which shows she will ALWAYS be that girl. messy management and then lackluster music is what's prevented her from being able to keep up her momentum because she still is very much the full package

you know what's crazy when she tried doing this with fantasy ride the urban community turned on her and considered her a sellout only to then not support her when she went back to urban. urban fans tend to gatekeep their artist and in the same breath complained that they're not given there flowers. honestly over the years some of ciara's best tracks have been her more pop leaning material which if released would've scored her a few hit singles like pucker up, keep dancin on me, tell me what you're name is, livin it up, overdose, give me love, freak me, na na like girl come on now. ya need to stop sleeping on her she's more than just the goodies girl! i completely agree she has the voice and the look to excel in pop considering how fickle her core fanbase is about her doing that i say she should do that on the side to keep her name out there and also it'll give her the freedom to actually explore and experiment with something more modern as well. how she hasn't worked with calvin, david or zedd at this point is beyond me. if dj's were to seek out more popgirls that were performers it'll only elevate their material. ciara would SLIDE on production by austin millz, kaytranada, black coffee, flume, regard, disclosure, alesso, pnau, jax jones, joel corry, kygo, alok, diplo, dj snake and tiesto phew

it's not dated. expand your horizons on the kind of djs you know and what's out there because it's actually a much more versatile field now. look at the names i mentioned above

um how do you know that because this sounds like a fanfiction that you pulled out of your ass because no such thing has ever been uttered. this song should've easily been her WE FOUND LOVE/ WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER moment and was somehow botched. their was no official video and instead they pushed that noisey ass remix instead. epic had nothing to do with the release of that song and why would they be against her when epic themselves wanted ciara to be more pop to begin with?

i bet isn't boring. it works best in it's simplicity because it's a heartbreaking ballad. she doesn't really do edm. get up by r3hab is like the only one which is why we're suggesting that she tap into that more at least on the side to serve us something new. jackie is her most straight up pop album by far though.

imagine a beach set summertime island video she would've ate and left no crumbs

this would actually be a cultural reset for sure

a joint tour with them two would be amazing and a collab is long overdue. tinashe can even writer or produce a few songs for her that would help modernize her sound

jlo is never releasing an album again it seems. ciara has released more albums than jlo in the past decade. it's wild

Nice. Apart from Lil Baby, are there any names we for sure recognize (so as to ascertain the features)?

 

Random but relevant: Her dedication to Theron is...something. Does he not charge her or what? Because he literally keeps making HITS for others (even recently) and yet gives her music that ranges between "ok" and flat-out bad.

 

Either there is some unspoken benefit of working with him that (fans) will never be told or they are both a lil delulu about the quality of their output. Because there's only so many times one can keep tanking before realizing that fresh energy is desperately needed.

 

What's most annoying about Theron always being in the mix is that the current climate actually favors her indie status in terms of who to work with. We no longer live in the era of the "super producer" whose songs were what went on to be hits (Stargate, Timbaland, Darkchild, Max Martin, Dr. Luke etc).

 

There are so many up-and-comers (or even TikTok producers, if she's really angling for viral) that would jump (pardon the pun) at the chance to work with a veteran to get put on-on. Hell, many of them are already the ones making smashes for the big acts nowadays. Ci's resources $$$ would be better spent on working with up and comers when it comes to the music and then spending a lil bit to present it in a pricey way with a big visual. 

 

I hate to compare the girls. But check the credits on Beyonce's Renaissance. To my point above, while her previous albums were dominated by the likes of The Dream and Sean Garrett and co, she's sustained and remained fresh, relevant n profitable by embracing the new. A rising duo called Nova Wav co-wrote most Renaissance (including the smashes like Cuff It). Just a few years ago, they wrote Monica's Commitment. I say that to say, they would have jumped at the chance to work with Ciara back then and maybe even now. 

 

I'm excited for this EP. Make no mistake. But it's just irritating to see someone with so much talent constantly not operate in the most optimized way....while her peers all do.
