It’s weird how it used to be prestigious even 10 years ago. They’re giving it to everyone nowadays.

 

Miley feels the most deserving of it in that list in my opinion because of Wrecking Ball alone but… none of them really have a videography that completely deserves it.

No, every year is perfectly fine if it was actually given to the RIGHT ARTIST! There are plenty of well deserved artist that can receive this award in many different genres of music.

Ok I did not realize those last 3 weren't even awarded yet and they debuted in the 90s. I don't necessarily agree they need to have been around at least 20 years but the ones who have should definitely get priority first.

Why do shows like the VMAs act like the only successful artists are ex-Disney acts, child stars, and Drake? Why not give these awards to rock, indie, alt, alt-pop/rnb/hip-hop, etc. acts? Like it’s such a joke to consider Selena Gomez for an award pioneered by Michael Jackson.
