More girls identifying as liberal, while more boys identifying as conservative

Because women are the better people and men love to suck each others dicks. Literally and figuratively

Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I wonder if a lot of the men become more liberal after high school. I was in high school around 2016 and a lot of guys my age became conservative because of right-wing Internet personalities like Ben Shapiro, but then became liberal once they entered college.

And what about the other 60% of respondents?

The average American man doesn't read, so this checks out.

No *****/thussy/bussy unless you give receipt of donation to a left-leaning party. Problem solved. :giraffe:

Social media (which has been EXPOSED for purposely promoting conservative bullshit) + school sports teams (do you know how messy it can get when no one is there to supervise a coach :rip:) are major causes for this.

It would mean around 65% of that *60% voted Democrat last election

Since it was 53% Democrat/43% Republican overall last election in November for young men

They really don't have the best role models, in seeing who they go up for at the drop of a dime. Also, girls tend to mature faster than boys and are arguably much more intelligent than boys are at this age. Also, guys at this age feel like they have to prove their manhood—so they'd naturally lean more towards conservative values. Assuming they go to college, they'd probably become more liberal the longer they stay in university and become more educated.

Remember when they were killing infant girls in China in the 80s/90s? Maybe we should switch it to western boys, for the better future :gaycat5:

This moment replaying itself live basically with this comment :rip:

OT: This is actually concerning though. No doubt they're still young and could change, but we know that early indoctrination is not easy to be rid of. So in other words in the next few years these boys will be adults who will influence voting, legislature, politics and policy and it looks gloomy.

Which is why its so important that they also have left-leaning male figures online to look up to. Look, HasanAbi isn't the best spokesperson and has some eye raising hot takes but he's generally a force for good (he's hotter than like 90% of Hollywood too), MrBeast and his gang too. These people should be the ones we support in getting a wider voice across the bench, they're not perfect but if anyone should have online role models it should be people like them.

PewDiePie was kinda sus but generally he was harmless and frankly he was probably the only thing stopping most millenial-early Gen Z guys from falling into the trappings of alt-right extremist pipeline because every fan of his just ended up being some silly lil gamer guy (yes he said the n word we know that). Now, Adin Ross, Tate, etc. are infesting the minds of the younger gen and I fear its going to happen to Gen Alpha too.

Dream SMP, the Mr Beast gang, xQc, Ninja, Markiplier, etc. all these gaming-oriented bases who are objectively 10x more massive than the reach of Tate and have the power to do genuine pushback and be a force for good for the new generation of kids, the problem is these guys coast on their millenial-Gen Z audience who actively support them and have no interest in espousing counterpoint views, whether it be in games, or vlogs, etc. I am of the firm belief that the reach Tate and co. have is actually marginally less than what the Internet has you believe but because of how extremist and successful they convert these few young men, they end up feeling and looking larger than life which in turn, without pushback, creates a snowball effect.

The only huge left leaning online figure right now is HasanAbi and co. (who have strong marginal ties to the MrBeast and Dream SMP gang) but he's like the only one who's actually political in nature. We need more figures like him online tbh.

Seems the only real takeaway from this study is that people are starting to reject the US’ political binary (good)

Obviously part of it is due to the successful recruitment campaigns by right wing influencers, but I do think we on the left have to take responsibility as well.

Too many of us, myself included, veer into open resentment of men and masculinity. We use our status as marginalised people to villainise and bludgeon men as a group without really being nuanced or empathetic about it. As a teacher I've seen how some young men become isolated and resentful in how our culture currently operates, particularly online.

I dont have solutions but I think this is something all of us should try to be reflective about, rather than writing these guys off as just like racists/sexists who were going to be right wingers anyway.

That is because most of them don't actually know their political ideologies. Hence why either one of those two are the only ones pciked.  Also Liberalism and Conservatism literally prop up the same 1%ers. Acting like isn't about maintaining the status quo for the rich elite.

Boys are exposed to more conversation ideologies because male are expected to be complicit not disrupt the status quo. Such ideologies restrict females hence why rebellion to these notions leads to a more leftist thought patterns.

However these are highschoolers, they are more in the centre than being  purely on the left or right scale.
