about those strikes: big companies and lobbies always win at the end of the day. basically if it's not a human rights issue there's no such thing as a revolution viable in 2023. that's the truth. (it's hard even when it's a human rights issue around the world, imagine an already employed people issue). 

those people will have to work again for their own sake. the companies will do some kind of declaration increasing the salaries by idk... 2x the inflation % (at the very MOST), and that will be it. 

 

and yeah, on top of that as we're seeing now it will also make the AI take over on movies start faster.

Obviously they are not gonna use a pure made-by-AI script. They would hire some part time, hour wage "intern" writer who would have to comb through and fix that script to be barely usable.

my last job was technically as a translator but most of what i did taking text translated via AI and making it sound "human".

Most of these are product managers. They just added AI on the job title.

 

Every position is different, but the most likely the common responsibility is how to push AI into their products. In the case of film studios, how they can replace artists, actors, writers etc with AI

 

 

This is coming for all of us, replacing hundred or workers with AI. This is a very consequential strike.
