ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted July 25, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted July 25, 2023 That's very good for someone like Margot Robbie without a track record of huge box office hits outside of superhero films. This will certainly boost her quote for future films.
JustLikeHoney Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) She doesn't really have a proven track record of box office smashes and that's is a pretty high salary. But she produced it so she is making lots of money from that and of course movie merchandising. Plus she probably has a backend deal of weekly money from the box office. She is not walking away from this movie with only 12.5 Million that is for sure. Edited July 25, 2023 by JustLikeHoney

Pinksus Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Fifty black people got they ass beat by police today, but the whole world gotta stop for one little whitey not receiving more Million dollars 5 7 2
AvadaKedavra Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Love her, hope she gets bigger and bigger with time
SharonStone Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 ONLY?! Mind you she got the 12.5M check coming off of a string of massive flops Now after Barbie she'll get 25M *and* backend At the end of the day Hollywood can say 'diversity this, diversity that' all day for optics, but they'll always champion pretty, blonde, blue-eyed white women to be their #1
Right Now Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 After her recent track record at the box office, that seems more than fair. And it’s not until the IP is proven to be successful, that actors can negotiate higher salaries for sequels.
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Barbie is exactly what she needed so she can start getting paid Jennifer Lawrence levels of money (20M-25M) She’ll be fine.
Sannie Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Uh, $12.5m is a lot. I am curious if she had a backend deal or if the $12.5m was it. There is a possibility they did not expect this movie to blow up so she may not have accepted a backend deal in exchange for the $12.5m.

The ceos and board members who do NOTHING are overpaid. edit: she deserves more. In fact actors should get a larger share of the profits especially if the movie is successful. 1 1

poki Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 $12M is way more than what my entire bloodline of poor farm workers ever made For her resume, this makes sense. If they do a sequel she will definitely get more.
FreeXone Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 She was producer. She is def getting more than that lol probably lots of brand deals too

Assassin Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 such a backfire for op. plus he really thought we'd feel bad for her being paid "only" $12.5M.
kimberly Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 are we supposed to pity her for producing a blockbuster movie and getting paid $12.5M as an actor after casting herself? 2
GagaTomFord Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Margot Robbie is expected to make a whopping $12.5 million from starring in Barbie. This humongous salary is expected to put Robbie among the highest-earning actresses of 2023, a list that includes the likes of Viola Davis, Reese Witherspoon, and Sandra Bullock.
QueenBLadyG Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 (edited) "only"? That seems more than generous. She's more than likely grateful and thankful, considering. Edited July 25, 2023 by QueenBLadyG
If U Seek Amy Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Honestly this sounds kinda shitty and I do love her a lot. But when someone makes 12 million dollars off one film and most people dont even see a million ever I don't really care to advocate for her to earn more money lmao
AMIT Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 y'all attacking the OP but then turn around and praise y'all faves multimillion/billion fortunes lmao it's time to be serious and get a grip already

OP just like all of us have the kind of harmful thinking that is normalized by the capitalsit system, he just happened to let it slip now, but don't act like we as a whole don't have weird thought processes that serve to uphold the violent and inhumane system we live in. 3 1 1
