She can say whatever she want to say about Beyoncé, but leave children out of this. This woman is mentally so unstable.

She doesn't need to own her masters to deny a sample. You need an authorization from the composition copyright holder too which she should own as the writer of her songs.

If she doesn't grant permission and Beyonce still releases something with it, then she can sue.

Which Beyoncé never does. :rip: She ensures all permission is granted from the relevant parties.

Can she afford a lawyer to begin with?

Kelis didn't own any of the copyright. Beyoncé's team cleared it with everyone who did.

She's still a relevant party as a recording artist of the song, despite not having writing/production credits.

A cute simple heads-up and an email, if not from Beyonce herself, then at least from her camp, would've been nice. :foxaylove:

Pay credit where credit is due.

That's not how it works though. She didn't need to be informed, the relevant parties that did were and were compensated as such for the sampling. Whether you think it would've been "nice" or not is irrelevant.

So like Kelis, Azealia wouldn't be able to sue because the sample credits would've been cleared correctly as is always the case with Beyoncé.:foxaylove:

Mess.

That’s why kelis still isn’t getting writing royalties, huh?

Credit was paid where credit was due, in full.

The fact that Kelis wasn't informed by the people who owe the rights to the songs because they are fighting is not Beyoncé's responsability.

It was also a interpolation. She will not contact every person whose lalalas she does could be interpreted to sound like what she did.

She did everything that should be done correctly.

Beyonce removed the interpolation altogether after Kelis went off, instead of owning up to her wrongdoing and acknowledging Kelis as a rightful source of inspiration.

But yes, she is not receiving any publishing royalties from Milkshake.

Then that's not a sample.

:foxaylove:

Acknowledging Kelis as a rightful source of inspiration?  You mean like CREDITING her on the track?  When she didn’t have to?

Good riddance.

:foxaylove:

No, why would Beyoncé own up to anything? That awful woman went on line and called Beyoncé a devil worshiper over an interpolation. Beyoncé does not owe her any respect or any right dealings after that.

And you also do not even know what you are talking about. She was acknowledged as a right source of inspiration. Her name was literally in the credits as a song by Kelis and in the booklet before.

0h please. I need yall to get Milkshake to 300 million streams after 20 years. Energy will surpass it in the long run, tragic.

Yall aren't real fans. Beyonce pays for everything. The brokies feel over entitled and can't make a move where it counts. Kelis hasnt taken Pharrell to court yet.

:foxaylove:

'Milkshake' was produced by The Neptunes and written by The Neptunes. she's not entitled to anything of the song except being paid a fee to perform it. her issue is with Pharell especially considering Kelis was on the original tracklist. another Black woman in music is giving you credit on a song that you have no copyright to, after the producer scammed you out of a writing credit 20 years ago. you have to be a mad, bitter individual to not see the beauty and appreciation in the gesture.

Good. It hurt Kelis more in the end and yall are mad about it. Beyonce isn't about to argue with her.

She should have kept her mouth shut or taken Pharrell to court. But wait, he wrote and produced the song for Britney. So there's that.

Anywho. No one has to sample Azeia who already samples well known 90s house hits. BFFR. Bey will move on from this sound with act ii and Azealia will still be stuck on 2012.

Yall give that girl too much just because she's messy and fun.
