I’m seeing tiktoks of activists harassing billionaires in the hamptons and we LOVE to see it.

Inconveniencing random working class commuters won’t help your cause.

:ahh: They can't be surprised when this happens to them, they're literally keeping people from getting where they need to go. This also isn't an issue that enough people care about to be understanding of this type of protest.

Would the earth burn if they were standing somewhere else but the center of the damn road. Idk like a sidewalk.

They should be picketing major corporations headquarter cause they are the ones that are having the biggest carbon impact on the earth. Not someone who is likely trying to get to work or home to their family that can’t because some stupid ******* are in the middle of the street. I believe in climate change as well but these stupid ass stunts don’t do ****

Protest is supposed to be disruptive, that’s the point… that’s HOW you incite change… I say good on them.

Not to mention these protesters work with emergency services so ambulances / police etc can still carry out their duties…

The motorist is a raging lunatic.

Go disrupt oil companies, billionaires and politicians then. Screwing over people's busy lives is beyond selfish and deserving of a punch.

That’s kinda the point - disruption, on all accounts… they do target oil companies and billionaires - one hijacked a politicians wedding last week.

Saving the planet kinda takes priority over someone being annoyed they didn’t make the 9am meeting.

Oh yeah they totally saved the planet by stopping the traffic for working class people and public transport on a random wednesday in London. :worship:

and I just read that they caused a pregnant woman to crash her car. Heroes! :worship:

It’s about the bigger picture. That’s the point of protest… and it’s an effective model, hell, look at the suffragettes.

I’m not saying I support people putting themselves or others in danger, but disruptive protest is an effective way of getting the message across.

Yes, I saw, her partner assaulted the man he accused responsible. There’s no footage but if the protestors did cause the crash then obviously that’s very distressing - however, it still doesn’t take away from the message. Protest is vital for a thriving democracy and allows us to send a message to the accountable.

Furthermore, these protests are organised with the help of the police and no harm is intended.

If you really think that stopping commuters from getting to work and hospital appointments (including for things such as chemotherapy) is going to put one iota of pressure on politicians and oil companies you must be delusional :rip: They literally don't care and interrupting ordinary people's lives is not an inconvenience to them. Go disrupt the daily lives of politicians and the people running the oil companies, go block the prime minister from entering Downing Street, maybe that could actually get us somewhere, but they won't because they know that the police wouldn't tolerate it. There have already been deaths due to the traffic delays these protests have caused. I completely agree with their message, but disagree with the delivery. Chalking it all up to the right to protest is ridiculous as there have always been limitations in place.

It’s supposed to disrupt the companies? Or the government? Who actually can make change. Not random

people on the street.

Not you having an entire Taylor swift avi sticking up for them. Why don’t you and the rest of these idiots go protest the eras tour since your fav uses her priviate jet like it’s a bicycle. If we are talking about change start with that instead of disrupting people going about their day who don’t have a fraction of the carbon footprint as these millionaires with private jets

The guy overreacted by punching the protestor in the face but come on people have places to be. At most I would have told them to move out the ******* way.
