Europeans are becoming poorer

That just means US billionaries are adding more billions to their accounts. The average american citizen is one missed paycheck or one big health crisis away from endng up on the street while europeans live very secure, healthy and safe lives thanks to the excellent social programs.

How did this become us vs europe super fast?

Both are doing horrible atm what are you fighting about?

Another thread where Americans and Europeans can fight over who’s the least trash lmfao

People romanticise Europe too much and people do the most on the US. Americans themselves are always the first to say they live in a third world country while knowing nothing about third world countries.

US salaries are a lot higher, there's more opportunity and sometimes living costs are actually lower. What they trade for that is much less workers rights such as paid leave, little social security, higher inequality and of course no healthcare. Personally I would prefer the European model but the US model has advantages and USD being the world currency gives them more control over inflation.

Love to see it :fan:

If they’re talking about rich Europeans and rich Americans, that's right, but not the average citizen.

We don’t allow the rich to get richer here, as this is the first step to a corrupt society.

Our presidents themselves, like everyone else, get salaries, not checks, and if they commit corruption they will be impeached and sent to prison, unlike Trump.

oh noo Europe doesnt have as many megarich people spending billions propping up their private consumption numbers, whatever shall they do :chick3::chick3: maybe they'll go to their metal detectorless primary schools or free hosptials and cry about it

if anything this is yet more evidence of what a dystopia the US really is. Far and away the richest country in the history of the world, eclipsing even other rich places like Europe or my country, and yet somehow manages to be **** for most of its citizens

:clap3:
let’s remove the top 1% from all those charts and see what happens. I bet the US chart would look SO DIFFERENT.

Tbh the per capita income looks pretty good still but we are succumbed to enormous copays, deductibles, etc for basic care. And our parks, roads, bridges, etc. look like trash. And our bills are astronomical since we barely have any renewable energy. :)

I'd agree about Greece, and maybe Italy (because of the corrupt government, lack of job opportunities) but definitely not Spain.

Spain or even Italy are among the 5th biggest economies in the EU, not to mention that Spain is the second most visited country in the world, and Italy is the third most visited in the Europe.. So, they’re not there as EU members for nothing, in fact they are very beneficial to the union.

Yes, I would say Italy has a real big problem with a corrupt government that needs to be fixed, plus a lack of job opportunities, and the high rate of demanding old people.

Greece is literally a filler just like some other fillers amongst the  EU countries but that doesn't change the fact that the EU benefits a lot from especially Spain and also Italy.

Now that you mention it, there are also states in the US that are useless and compared to Spain or Italy they are literally nothing.

We’re talking about the economic relationship only between the European Union and some European countries, not the culture of those countries or the people who live in them.

The Union is built on an economic goal only, not a cultural one. The European continent is what unites European countries among themselves. The union may disintegrate one day, but it’s more difficult for a continent to disintegrate. Don’t take it personally.

I thought it was easier for Europeans to get a job right after college than it is for Americans?

This has never been true. America will always have more jobs. But then again, when it comes to minimum wage, and social benefits after getting a job, Europe wins.
