Mystical Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Just now, DonnaSpring said: hold me closer was miles better than this though, no body is going to listen to this song outside the stans The nerve of people comparing it to HMC and even trying to drag some songs from the Glory sessions. The embarrassment of it all.
Mystical Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 So now we’re bringing Mood Ring into this? I guess I’ve truly seen it all
Arcadius Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 The song is simply not good and I say this as a die hard Britney fan. Will clearly wanted to cash in on Brit's clout.
Erreur2 La Nature Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Playlisting and TTH would have helped a lot. HMC had way more and it still wasn't that good for playlisting. I hope it shows Britney that she should never ever work with will again lmao and I am glad it's his song, give us some Max Martin b!tch ! 1

MYB is highly critiqued because it’s a terrible Britney Jean reject which should have stayed in the vault eternally. If she released something, let’s say, on the level of Strangest Love (which is 20 years old btw), no one would’ve complained. These Twitter stans are just being delusional and trying to bring Glory songs into this conversation for some odd reason, which is triggering and shouldn’t be a thing. Fans always complain especially in the Britney fandom nnn and these Twitter stans have a Point despite the fact that everything on Glory might be better than MYB (but no one is talking about this here)
DonnaSpring Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I hope she instead works with Stuart Price and makes magic

No, part of the problem is they tried selling MYB as a brand new collaboration until fans pieced together that it was from the BJ era. Stars and mood ring had always been sold as songs from the glory era. Not the same thing. 1

You’re probably right about them originally wanting to sell this as something brand new… and this narrative definitely would’ve happened if Myah had never mentioned that song during her Q&A in 2020. 1
Fraser Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I think the reason they brought up SWTS, MR and Matches is that they were pushed/released because the conservatorship state and record label wanted it and people fell in love with those songs, now that a song that Britney herself actually wanted released is being trashed, they're questioning if the same people are actually real fans.
shyboi Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 (edited) It will NOT chart buy it will become a CULT moment in both stan history and pop culture everybody, fans and non fans are having a field with this, getting in on the joke, bopping and having FUN, even charli let's just enjoy it, who knows when we are getting music again Edited July 22, 2023 by shyboi 3
Antikythera Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 I'm happy this is already forgotten. It is her worst song to date!
Mystical Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Conservatorship or not, we know Britney LOVED making Glory and it’s ALL that matters. Dragging any songs from those sessions is not what anyone should be doing in their tragic attempts to defend Mind Your AI. @06:56 1
Fraser Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Well, turns out with Britney it is never just about the material. We all know she loved Glory even though there are some of her worst songs ever on that album (Private Show, What You Need), and it's undeniable those 3 other songs where pushed without her approval. What bothers me the most it's not even MYB itself, it's just a mindless bop where Brit wasn't trying to achieve anything per her Vogue interview, it's the fact that will.i.am didn't even bother to produce a new song for her and used an old one from the shitshow of an album that was Britney Jean. 1

Imo this is the first time since a long time, that Britney is able to take control in-depth so there were bound to be some questionable choices..but it deffo wouldn't have sounded this way if Will.I was better at seeing her vision and collaborating there are truly some rookie mistakes on that songs - that some fans already fixed too she really needs to work with people who can really make her ideas come into fruition But I get how it is hard for her to trust anyone after the Con..
