Mitski - Star: very pretty and very reflective. This has a gorgeous and almost cinematic vibe. The ambient organ noise which builds in the background combined with the subtle cacophony of horns which grow….. hmmmm yeh I really dig it. It’s stunning actually

Lauren Spencer Smith - Love Is An Overstatement: it’s basic as hell but cute?? shdjdjd. This has strong Disney teen movie vibes. Like after the protagonist has suffered scorn from her love interest and is picking herself up + rediscovering her self worth. I mean it’s not gonna get huge points but if I get into a teenage girl singing into her hairbrush kinda mood then I can allow it

Sudan Archives - Home Maker: Works better as an album opener rather than an isolated track because it takes a long while to get going, but when it does this is great. The production is sooooo intricate, and her vibe is immaculate. Omg it goes soooo hard in a subtle way

Selena Gomez - Revival: it’s cute enough, not really that familiar with this to be honest which means it never caught my attention on release. The production has cool elements / sounds but Selena sounds bland, isolated and even kind of annoying on it. A better vocalist would probably improve this

Perfume: this was enjoyable in a light and bouncy way, the wandering synth lines were v cute. It will probably be middling in my ranks

Hilary Duff - Dignity: it’s like fine shdjdjdj maybe even kinda good for what it is…. like the instrumental is kinda camp, there’s a lot going on in a way that works reasonably well

Kehlani - altar: OMG at this being eligible, the fact she can’t chart with a song this good is criminal. This is such an earworm and suuuch a vibe, extremely replayable + her tone is v attractive compared to the recent vocalists on this playlist which is a relief *insert finally some good food gif*

I’ll probably listen to the playlist again one or even two times as I’m driving today + submit my ranks this evening, overall I think the submissions were cute especially when allowing for the difficulty of theme 3, well done and good luck everyone

Nova Miller - Mi Amor: too much on the generic side, but it's not bad

Imogen Heap - Just For Now: I don't use the last tracks from this album that much, but this is very pretty

Fiona Apple - On The Bound: her music is just not for me

Clairo - 4EVER: kinda passed me by but it was nice while it lasted

Ashlee Simpson - Autobiography: her voice sounds weird here but it's still a decent pop-rock song

Isabella Lovestory - Hit (feat. Chucky73): I loved Antifragile but haven't been able to get into her own music

Kimbra - Teen Heat: I enjoyed this one, maybe I need to revisit this album

Kimbra - Teen Heat: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This is like, my favourite song of all time. Deadly serious!!!!!!!!! The soft, sugary, warm, EUPHORIC melody + unique fairytale-like production combined with the slightly heart-breaking, vulnerable, raw and beautiful lyrics, which are somehow simultaneously simple yet complex and FULL of weight? When you look beyond the obvious, there is a hint of sadness and trauma in the references to her past here, and the fact that the central lyrics are framed in a double negative,,, as if she would normally be second guessing herself about the relationship but she is now *NOT* thinking of leaving, letting go etc.. overjoyed to finally feel secure and to have overcome the anxiety most of us know only too well from the earlier rocky stages of a relationship? This song kind of embodies the release of that anxiety and the comfort that brings. The way that the bridge BUILDS from the vocal layering in the second half is an extended moment of basically ecstasy, and like, these ad libs are why I used to stan Kimbra... She sounds HEAVENLY. This song just hits so hard and I'm not even emotionally invested in a single soul on this planet rn, like this track kind of makes me excited to fall in love again and experience this journey???? OMG!!
