Twice - Basics

Late career-Twice is definitely a toss up. It feels like along the way they lost a spark that they once had, where they had reliably catchy hooks and bubbly fun pop. However, here and there they have a few secret bops and I feel like this is a good example. It's a cute Atlanta bass style, very Tinashe - Superlove (the impact this song has had on K-Pop), not the most exciting thing and not enough to revive their consistency but very cute and an easy to listen to bop.

 

This might get a few points, depending on how the rest plays out. Otherwise I liked it!

The bridge is fun! It's got a very breezy summer fun vibe to it. The lyrics, and kind of a lot of other elements, feel very playlist-core where its just sort of a paint by numbers indie pop song, but it's enjoyable.

 

Probably won't get points from me, but nice in a breezy way I guess? It was okay.

It's a nice callback to her dance-pop days, but I feel like there was a build up to the chorus that didn't really get anywhere. I would've liked it more if it was a bit more anthemic? Her vocals are really nice though, I think they make the song.
