I don't get why there needs to be a culture war, it's literally the same music just in a different language

I don’t get why the k pop stans are so pressed about not liking the songs like I know a lot of us that aren’t into it but when we like a song we say it. I even had saved a lot of k pop songs to my library and then they call me xenophobic because I don’t like the majority of them lol.

Like people could not like a genre and that’s it. Like no one says something when some users here says they don’t like a song because it’s very indie/alt/rock-ish or even in Spanish -which btw is way more blacklisted on here because they don’t understand any word but yeah. They could make their research and know what a k pop says on their Korean segments- like if you wanna point out that then point them all and not just when your genre is being attacked.

the passive aggressive over this is just worrying like there’s nothing wrong not liking it and like literally I didn’t said k pop wasn’t diverse. I said it was generic which is from what I have heard so far and if you really want to change people views about k pop then just make us an introduction of every song that for you it’s not generic and that’s it. Stop with this drama

Without naming names it's that some users seem to instantly dismiss this round and past k-pop songs just because they're k-pop. Personally I would argue k-pop is not really a genre, it's just pop/etc in Korean. There's plenty of songs this round that sound nothing alike, Not in Public sounds nothing like Yesterday which sounds nothing like ASAP etc. The same argument could be used for any other language/culture not just Korean

And I don't get why all these eliminated people are coming to complain, like you're not even playing anymore. Why are you so pressed at a round of Korean music

I understand the point and you are so right but the passive aggressive behaviour they have doesn’t help either. Like k pop it’s not the only genre or segment or like term that is discriminated and their stans also tend to do the same with other genres and they have no problem or saying it. So make it sense btw

i think ppl are doing a lil too much with the xenophobia even if it kinda of is but you said it best, people do it even worse with spanish music which is why im surprised on your take nnnn.

like ye most mainstream kpop is always the same **** but a lot of it is actually done by the same american writers/producers that work in well english songs, kesha/carly/ariana/tinashe (kii) all had some demos released by kpop groups :michael:

We can comment whatever we want. It’s a forum why are you policing other people’s opinions?

I'm not policing anyone, I'm allowed to comment whatever I want too, and my comment is that it's weirdo behavior, like you all want to seem different and edgy for hating k-pop. Sorry for your elimination btw

Huh, you post is saying how eliminated ppl shouldn’t even come to post in the game. Good luck with the ratings when you won and everybody on mute.

I never said that? I just said it's weird to come in here to complain repeatedly when it doesn't even involve you

pls at this point it's xenophobic and anti-Asian at this point. i am Asian myself and i won't let y'all be like that. these users have blatantly and repeatedly panned songs just because they are kpop. like what other posters have said before me kpop can be as varied as western pop the same way both can be as generic but i don't see certain users being so consistent in bashing western pop. you can't tell me this isn't rooted in xenophobia really.

How many of the remaining contestants are from Southern California? The extension coincides with the arrival of Hurricane Hilary (the biggest reason why I did my critiques and rankings right away). Given the potential for life-threatening and catastrophic I could understand asking for an extension because I've been anxious myself.

There’s more variety in K-Pop than there is in mainstream Western pop lmao (note) just say you don’t like it instead of calling the whole genre generic!
