The Sun: Victoria to rejoin Spice Girls next year

THE Spice Girls’ sensational 30th anniversary reunion follows six months of secret talks and will include Victoria Beckham.

The chart-topping supergroup are considering a headlining slot at Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage. There are also plans for a one-off documentary featuring never-before-seen footage — with Netflix and Apple TV eager to snap up the rights.

Emma Bunton, 47, Geri Horner, 50, Mel Brown, 48, and Mel Chisholm, 49, have provisionally agreed to tour dates in 2024 — with recent absentee Victoria “bringing ideas to the table”.

A source said: “For the past few years the Spice Girls have still been operating day-to-day as a four but, for the first time in a long time, Victoria is now chipping in and happy to celebrate a landmark 30 years of girl power. Their schedules are pretty manic so getting them all in one room at any one time is hard. But over the past six months there’s been more contact as a five than at any time since the 2012 Olympics."

“Victoria will be 50 next year, and the girls turning 30 seems like two anniversaries too good to miss. There will be no new music, and Victoria is adamant she doesn’t want to perform live unless for an incredibly exciting one-off opportunity. The group have been in talks to headline Glastonbury and this would sit with Victoria’s ‘cool’ aesthetic. And, certainly, hubby David and their four kids would love it. The girls have discussed a documentary which would show never-before-seen, behind-the-scenes footage plus present-day interviews. All five are on board to mark 30 years in some way, shape or form. It’s very exciting.”

Victoria missed the girls’ 13-date tour of the UK and Ireland in May and June 2019. Four Spices, minus Mel B, reunited for Geri’s 50th last year. Mel C performed a solo set at this year’s Glasto where she revealed: “All of the Spice Girls would like to play Glasto, that is the truth. “Like I said to the audience, doing a couple of Spice Girls songs, ‘A bit of a warm-up for next year?’”

I feel like this gets said once every few months but I'm here for it. If they do Glastonbury they deserve a headlining slot though not just Sunday Legends slot

Honestly, I can see her coming back for Glastonbury, but not for a whole tour.

Then the others should leave her behind and finally tour internationally!

They're lazy. Even their 2007 tour had more planned dates which were later cancelled. Their 2019 one earned more money with UK dates only.

I mean yeah, they are not doing too much to continue their legacy. The Spice 25/Spiceworld 25 releases were not the bang they should've been, but I believe they had international dates planned that got scrapped because of COVID. Mel B and Mel C both teased it on socials at the time, iirc.

The Sun are sadly quite reliable so I'm inclined to believe this. She will only do Glastonbury though and will absolutely be removing herself from the group chat she's had muted for years after it.

This is probably just Mel B leaking this bs behind the scenes to try to put some pressure on Vicky :rip:

Yeah idk if it's a done deal but I do believe most of this and they must have some trust in whoever the source/insider is.

It actually made their front page today:

I'm all for one time thing, no tour again, no new music, just this festival gig is really enough. Or, now hear me out, or get back together and start doing new music. I have a feeling they are reuniting every 2-5 years

I NEED new music from them. I know it will happen someday. ABBA did it. So they will too, eventually.

I don't think it will if it hasn't at this point tbh, at least not all 5, unless it's like a holiday release or a one off for charity

I'd be here for a Glastonbury performance from them if the entire set is filmed. Since they NEVER film their reunion tours that would probably be the best we could get and it's be great to see all 5 of them perform one final time together.

Then I'd be here for the other four to carry on without Victoria and tour internationally. I saw them in 2019 & they were incredible.

I also will always hope for new music. They are my favorites of all time but I also know as a fan they are lazy. I know some are worried new music would hurt their legacy but they aren't doing much to celebrate it anyway so id much rather have new music even with just the 4, Victoria doesn't need to part take though I'd love if she did.

Do you think they are really worried about that? I always thought they are just too lazy. 😂

Maybe i'm wrong but I think they recorded about 10 tracks back in 06-07? This batch could leak. I'd be here for it.

One last thing!

In germany we have a girlband that's very similar to the Spice Girls. They had a fifth member that hasn't been part of the band for nearly 20 years but fans are still asking for that member ALL THE TIME.

I think it would be the same Witz Victoria. The Spice Girls would work AMAZING sonically without her but I bet fans wouldn't shut up about her missing.

I knew she couldn't stay away forever. Once you get a taste of being the belle of the ball you will always crave it again. Her flop fashion brand wasn't doing it anymore and Beckham's football career is over so back to the Spice Girls it is. I for one welcome our lip synch queen back.

just give us one more new album cmon girls thats all i want. i want to hear them with a current sound.

... I don't see it happening, especially if a world tour could happen.  If it's a one-off, maybe...? I don't know.  I feel like she saw the 2012 Olympics as her swan song with them.
