stjosephprey4us Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 I don’t get it, I thought the Supreme Court already shot his plan down. Is this something different? 1
BlondGuts Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 I don’t get it. It’s not the same as the blanket forgiveness that the Supreme Court struck down. It’s for people who’ve been on a payment plan for 20-25 years

FameFatale Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 If someone has been paying student loans for 25 years, let them clear it all 1

People sued loan processors for incorrect record-keeping. IDR repayment plans means your loans are already forgiven after 25 years of payments as long as you never miss a payment and stay impoverished enough to qualify for the IDR. Issue is loan processors have been awful and tracking these 25 year loan portfolios and who made payments when. The amount being forgiven through forcing the administration's hand is about 2% of all outstanding student debt. Edited July 14, 2023 by Communion
