ImpressMeMuch Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 I adore this album after more time with it, almost no skips
zasderfght Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 After more listens, I actually think this is Troye's weakest album. Rush is a fantastic single. Got Me Started is fun but it's also not as good as Rush. The rest of the songs? They're too slow to truly be bops and they're not meaty enough to truly be ballads like "Animal" from Bloom or "Heaven" from Blue Neighbourhood. I honestly have not revisited any deep cut from this album outside of listening to the album from start to finish. I find it puzzling in a particular interview, he talked about this album not being another sad-girl breakup album (or just a sad-girl album), but you have songs like One of Your Girls; Can't Go Baby, Baby; Still Got It; and How to Stay with You. And then the usual pining-over-a-guy tracks like In My Room, Silly, and Honey. This just isn't an album that has a whole lot on its mind. You can talk about unrequited love and make it interesting. You can talk about wanting a straight man (as a gay male) and make it interesting. Troye is 2 years younger than I am and yet I have outgrown the "I-like-the-straight-guy" or "I-like-guys-who-don't-like-me-back" or "I-miss-a-past-lover" phases. I hope as Troye lives and experiences the world more, he writes about something a bit more novel and unique the fourth time around. 3 1
ImpressMeMuch Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 How to Stay With You is a late game fave for me
sunbathinganimal Posted October 25, 2023 Posted October 25, 2023 finally listened to this, I like it but not as much as I thought I would
AcidPrince Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 One of your girls is just pop perfection. 1
campelo Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 This album is so Carly Rae Jepsen coded, she could have called her out for the vault tracks
as926 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Loving this more and more with every listen. Some of these lyrics are insanely heartbreaking.
Almodusa Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 This is my CHARLIE of 2023 (both coincidentally released in October of their respective year) 1
roggenpierre Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 One Of Your Girls is #11 on this week's UK charts. Pretty good for him I would say! 1

MusicIsMyMaster Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Ive had this album playing everyday since its release. I was not expecting to get into Troye Sivan as much as I did. He really slayed this era.

With its viraility and quality I'd say it's on par with Glad He's Gone, Cellophane and Houdini etc The way I was right I mean he even got the nomination for the song itself but still 2
