Cain Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Omg this album is amazing??? What’s The Time Where You Are and In My Room? 1
Cain Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 The 2010 INNA’d beat coming in at the end of Silly??? Oh he’s taking it
Rush Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 After one listen my standouts were: What’s The Time Where You Are One Of Your Girls Can’t Go Back, Baby Honey How To Stay With You
DAP Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 … none of the tracks hit like Rush or Got Me Started. Disappointing. 1 1 1
~Start The Music Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) Top 5 now: Still Got It, Can't Go Back. Baby, Got Me Started, Silly, Honey Edited October 13, 2023 by ~Start The Music
DAP Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 (edited) Standouts: Rush Got Me Started What’s The Time Where You Are? Silly In My Room Not an album I’ll revisit often but I’ll give it another listen for a different impression. It’ll be a skip for Still Got It and One Of Your Girls though. Heldenzeit Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 On my first listen and I‘m at Can’t Go Back now… It‘s kinda just playing along? Very lowkey so far, was hoping for bops.
LCTV Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Spotify Hearts: Rush What's The Time Where You Are? Still Got It Got Me Started Silly Honey
jim19911126 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 A huge disappointment, while he titled the album as "Something To Give Each Other", he didn't really give much to others, Rush and Got Me Started are the only standout and memorable moments from this album, the rest are forgettable and the vibe and the sound are repeating in these songs. Bloom was a career high, that album did really bloom into it's finest, the ballads in Bloom were also very very strong and powerful, upbeats like My My My and softer beats as Seventeen and Dance To This were also very personal yet lighthearted and fun, this kind of feeling can not be found on STGEO. After 5 years waiting and the promising from Rush and Got Me Started, I had really high hope for this, but I guess I will have to sit back and let go of my expectation. 5 1
rickycabello123 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Rush is the perfect lead single ever. Come thru Floyd BroZone 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Honey is the best track for me for now
Achilles. Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I’m gonna preface this by saying I nearly always have weak first impressions of new albums and generally need a number listens over a number of days before things really click (but I’ve already played this three times)… This is my least favorite offering from him since… TRXYE. It’s not bad, really. It might be too much production over lyricism for me. And not to be that guy, but maybe the reason the songs are so short is because they weren’t substantive enough to merit being longer. Where are the bridges, girl? Do we remember what those are?? Choruses so weak they don’t even need to be repeated a third time. Even the lyrics that are there feel more basic than he’s usually offered. This is like an album of first drafts. I don’t even dislike any of the songs, but I can’t see any of them ever making my top 25 from him. One Of Your Girls is a standout from the new material. It was savvy of him to make it the release week single, with one of the internet’s favorite thirst traps and a hot drag look in the video; lots of chatter about it, viral potential seems to be there. The song is good enough to benefit from the attention the video will draw. Good, but perhaps still a bit undercooked. I really like Can’t Go Back, Baby, definitely my favorite of the new offerings. Silly, Honey, and What’s The Time… are all pretty good. I mean, I don’t dislike any of the songs. I’m just not especially wowed by any of them, either. The album flows well enough for me. It’s a nice listen front to back. It definitely has a confidence to it, like he’s comfortable in his skin. That’s nice. I don’t relate to that, but maybe this will help me get there. Bloom and In a Dream will STAY seated in my top 15 most played albums of the year, though. Oh, the impeccable classics those are… I fear he was never living up to them. 1 1
Rush Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I was hoping for another Angel Baby type of ballad, but Still Got It and Can’t Go Back, Baby did not disappoint
Ale Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Another Tension situation where the singles are the strongest tracks but it's Ok, it's a nice album anyway.
Mr. Mendes Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 Oh this was immaculate. Really don’t get the whole “singles were the best” aside from One of Your Girls. On a whole listen, Rush turned out to be one of the lesser songs for me despite being great. Honey is a career high, What’s the Time Where You Are is immaculate, Can’t Go Back Baby is beautiful, and Silly is perfect. In my view, it’s his best album. He’s really 3/3 studio album wise though, can’t say he’s made a single bad album but he keeps getting better as he goes. One of the best albums of the year. 1 1
Frozen99 Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 what's the time has a cool production one of you girls reminded me of the weeknd, i love it in my room is sexy "Confundo la realidad" (i'm hearing kung-fu ) lush production still got it, is it an organ in the background? idk about that one, cool outro ig can't go back, finally a track that sounds in a dream-y! silly his delivery is giving jung kook/k-pop honey "i see sex in every city" sounds like a fusion of his old and new sound, great bop, the post-chorus synth "my body is working in overdrive" how to stay it's not bad but not for me. standouts rush, OoYG, in my room, can't go back, silly & honey. for me it's his best album, finally no skips (besides still got it) still hate the sample and still got it and the closer didn't grab me
Lady Claire Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 I really wish he had the budget to make this as a visual album, especially since this is soo short. All of the videos are beyond amazing, the aesthetic and the overall artistic vision is top notch When i listened to the album earlier today i didn't care for OOTG and now i'm obsessed with it bc of the video. The album is already pretty good but visuals would totally elevate the experience even more I hope he releases at least two more this era 4
