As their biggest stan this album kinda feels like a mixed bag to me but I'm sure that'll change soon enough. I absolutely adore all the singles and xwx/bloodbunny but the rest of the album tracks will have to grow on me.. The songwriting is a decline for me and I really wish they saved some of the singles for album release but its alright. I still really love it but I'm unsure if it'll top S2 or GP for me.

 

I wonder what everyone else thinks of the album tho..

Girl does anyone hear the mistake at the end of “x w x”? I think it has a bit of the start of “sulky baby.” Like it does not smoothly transition into “sulky baby” at all. I can’t unhear it now it’s so annoying. Should we tell them

I can totally see why their stans would think this is a downgrade from Glitch Princess (haven't heard the debut) but I like it better! I only listened to two singles before the album tho nn.

 

At the same time those two singles I heard before prob were the best (Sulky Baby & Dazies) with the title track. I was bopping to the Avril song too even with the lyrics

Somehow, while I enjoy a lot of singles they put out, I can't seem to appreciate a full body of work from them. This isn't an exception, even though I'd say it's their best album yet. I would have probably loved it more if they leaned even more in the rock aspects, the more electronic tracks are IMO the fillers of the record.

Just heard Cyber Meat on New Music Friday and I fell in love. I saw them support Charli last year and their music wasn’t like this at all, it sort of went over my head.
Going to give this album a listen later if it’s all that sort of glitchy grunge, pop rock sound. Could be AOTY if it all sounds like that.

I'm starting my listen now. I ignored ghosts, inferno, and softscars so that I'd have more to listen to on release day, so I'm really excited.

 

I absolutely LOVED Glitch Princess but I don't think that'll influence my opinions since the sound shift has been so big.

There's some glitch princess in here like in the already underrated "4ui12". They just invented a new genre with it (hyper grunge)

Just finished and I agree, that and "bloodbunny" definitely had some GP vibes.

 

"cyber meat" is my fav new track, it's really that *****  this is definitely my aoty, loved every single track
