Domination Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 (edited) I s2g if Jpow raises rates again… like girl, inflation is done, we’re all broke, and student loans are about to restart with no forgiveness. We’re going to slip right into a manufactured recession. Edited July 12, 2023 by Domination
Beyonnaise Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 I mean it's still quite high compared to 2018-2019 prices, things are improving slightly each month though.

They will never have any positive thoughts about him. On top of that, approval ratings for all the branches of government are in the dumpster. We need a political revolution. Tropez Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Wont mean anything once people are forced to pay their student loans causing them to have less spending money.
Breathe On Moi Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 rent being 70% of inflation tho, aren’t landlords embarrassed? aren’t they ashamed? aren’t they tired? have they washed their asses? nasty pigs 7 1

Not saying it’s all of the problem (pig landlords exist) but it’s definitely part of why rent is so high. 2
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Interesting. I still feel like we just got use to high prices over the past 2 years. Like last summer Gas was like over $5 and rent is now $2000 for a 1 bedroom. 💀

I get justified hate for it, but we were already paying this pre-pandemic, so it's irrelevant to use this as a crux against the objectively good news in the OP. 1 1

Inflation is higher now than it was before the pandemic. Wages also have not kept up with the price of inflation. So no, this isn’t good news. Because once those resume the spending power of people will actually decrease compared to before 2020.

What exactly do you think the economic impact will be of forcing 40 million Americans to make payments they haven't made in 4 years on an economy only just now recovering? Do wages continue to grow when people suddenly stop spending en masse? 1
harwee Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 What? Where? They must be hiding in someone's bank accounts.
If U Seek Amy Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 I mean I have student loans (though they’re private) but what did other people with student loans think was gonna happen exactly? Even if if Biden’s relief was approved for 10-20K and you got it and didn’t wipe it out? It wasn’t just going to be permanently dissolved any time soon in this congress and Biden isn’t going to wipe all of it. and clearly a payment pause wasn’t going to last forever 💀 Like I get it sucks but come on. You can keep playing victim about how evil the government is (and we do rightfully deserve to complain sometimes) or you could have spent all that time trying to position yourself better/preparing or decide to start acting to somehow try to prepare now. I mean I think it should be wiped 100% too, but let’s be realistic with what is going on and deal with it, not ***** and just do nothing for yourself. You knew this was coming eventually or should have prepared for the worse until it was guaranteed 1
