X~MoviePoP Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 https://m.imdb.com/title/tt7599146/ New movie that everyone is talking about because it revolves around human/child trafficking. Conspiracy is that Hollywood is trying to cover the film and pretend like it doesnt exists. It has made 40 million in 1 week at the box office. And a 76% on RT Mel Gibson backs this film hard. Anyone seen it? Thoughts? 1
Hurem Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 Why are they acting like this movie will stop child trafficking?
Euterpe Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 I’ll end up watching this, and if anyone is interested in a realistic fictional movie focused on human/child trafficking, Love, Sonia did a good job, though most of the movie is in India. It really stuck with me afterwards.
Communion Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 I hate that there's no historical literacy taught in schools about our media and news systems, because while human trafficking and sex-based crimes, especially around children, are horrific, the obsession certain demographics have with them and believing them as a deeply common, let alone rampant, phenomenon hiding in plain sight always flairs up when there is a reactionary cultural wave trying to push back on cultural progressivism at large. It was just the 80s where fears of the normalization of gay people resulted in mass hysteria and conspiracy of child sex abuse occurring in day cares ("keep the mothers at home! look what they're doing to your children!") that just wasn't happening. There's literally largely no difference in the Satanic Panic phenomenon and the modern QAnon cranks of the same type. Child sexual abuse is caused by *checks notes* ..."left-wing wokeism"??? 3 1
JungleJuice Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Jim Cavizel looked hot af during this movie. Had no idea he was so handsome. This was a pretty good film but God is a bullet had me in tears. This one had me in my feels as well. 1

XAMJ Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 Conservatives are acting like this low budget self funded film is being black listed by the media cause there’s no promotion lmao do they not know it’s costs $100m to advertise movies? Of course not cause they’re morons
Bosque Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 The movie is pretty good, it’s like those Christian movies that fly under the radar but really reasonate with a specific audience all the right-wing talk about censorship and “MSM is trying to bury this movie” etc. is cringeworthy as **** though. They really need to stop with the culture wars, it’s exhausting as hell 1 1
Katy V.! Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 I'm so relieved that only the Russian propagandists and genocide supporters are the ones taking the bait on this. 1
JGibson Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 The Sound of Freedom movie is hot QAnon-adjacent garbage (if not outright QAnon).
