sweetie imagine just accounting for AC as your whole electricity bill :rip: have you heard of TVs? Washing machines? Dishwasher? Stove? Fridge? PC? Etc? In the summer depending on how many ppl live in the household, it can hit 200+, so yes $50 only for AC is a lot on a monthly bill.

Running heating here in the winter could cost like €10 a day (and that's with considerate usage - like only 6-7 hours a day). If you blast your AC all day and it only costs $50 a month then yes that's VERY cheap!

babe idk about currency differences and cost of living and etc as far as where you live, but I’m sure it balances out somehow.

And really you’re sticking to “$50 a month” when it can really be like $60-80 a month range.

Air conditioning otherwise the heat is not survivable :dies:

The summer has been so miserable in the UK for the most part this year :chick1:

But I live coastal so even when it gets warm it's not super hot and is still breezy. Though tbh I don't mind the heat and love summer so I don't mind burning up

I work from home and my desk/office set up is in my bedroom, so I bought a portable AC. Keeps me cool during the day and at night so I can work better and sleep better. Vancouver is becoming like LA in the summer weather-wise so without AC you're going to suffer.

It helps that electricity costs are really cheap here.

Fortunately I'm a southern hemisphere girlie so it's winter. It's kinda scary how much y'all are relying on air con, when it gets real hot your electricity grids are gonna be fried - then what. :deadbanana:

Y'all actually use your AC? I try to avoid using it because Southern California energy prices are a mess. :deadbanana4:

I stay inside. I hate hot weather. One toe out the door and I feel like I have to take a ******* shower.
