In my city the heat is 102,2 F and it's really horrible, i feel like i'm dying every day. :toofunny2: I'm already tired of summer. :toofunny2: I CANT HANDLE THIS HEAT ANYMORE AND THIS IS ONLY THE START OF JULY. :deadbanana4: Global warming is horrific.

I have central AC, I drive everywhere and there’s AC at work.

I drink something cold all the time and I try to do minimum work. During heatwave I don't feel guilty about being lazy

in America we handle the effects of global warming by contributing to it and putting the AC on full blast

Spoiler

but this summer hasn't been that bad so far in the Bay Area where I live. I'm more inland in the suburbs and it does get hot here, but San Francisco/the coast rarely ever gets above 80 degrees F, its beautiful :jonny:

this summer I actually bought a few tower fans to have in house because even tho our central AC is great, overusing it is how it’ll breakdown/over freeze, and also it’s way more costly electricity wise.

for anyone needing to save $, fans running a day is literally $.10 in electricity vs. AC that’s like $1.50-2.50 a day running.

i have a fan running pretty much the whole day and get a refreshing beverage once in a while. otherwise I just suffer through it lmao.

It's fine in my city. I avoid going out when it's really hot during the day if I don't have to. I usually go for a walk after 7pm when it's not as dangerous.

Also I go to work and gym with my car. It takes me about 5mins for both when it's like 32°C so it's not as bad as in other places!

I live in Boston.  We get some warm days but if you just close your blinds turn on a fan it is bearable.

i live in Northern England and tbh the summer here is very mild. locals do complain that it's hotter than used to be but they say they're 'boiling' anytime temperature goes over 20 so i'm not taking them too seriously. i'm generally a very cold person so i love the summer and prefer heat waves over freezing weather

I feel like the heat has been unbearable lately tho :rip:

All the rain recently keeps making it so humid :weeps:

The past summer was much hotter than this year's. Even June was no more than warm. I'm glad summer has arrived with July.

This has been the fresher Summer since years where I live, I've turned on AC twice or three times so far, today was lowkey the first day of more hotness but manageable, however I do have fans and AC basically everywhere.

This summer has been so cool though.  I feel like we really have not had a heat streak yet.  Agreed though that this last weekend got a bit humid.

i always try to lose as much weight as i can before summer comes along because i sweat like a pig. :fan:

Living in Louisiana, the humidity just makes it all the more horrible. The worst of it has been the end of June, going into the very beginning of July. It hasn't been as bad the past couple of days, but summer did just start a couple of weeks ago; I'll be surprised, though, if we get any worse than we already have—100° days with a heat index of 116°.

Honestly, I've probably drank more actual water within the past month, alone, than I have since 2023 started.

i can handle heat but not humidity well, i get migraines when it's hot and humid

i honestly just sit in front of a fan all day and take a cold shower to cool down immediately after my jog

My bedroom is a basement so that helps a lot to cool it off.

When I sweat I try to wash off my forehead, that helps.

I can bare with the heat when I'm outside and 99% of the times I tan instead of burn so least I don't have to deal with that.

And loooooots of water.

So only $50 a month, is electricity that cheap in the US? :deadbanana2:

sweetie imagine just accounting for AC as your whole electricity bill :rip: have you heard of TVs? Washing machines? Dishwasher? Stove? Fridge? PC? Etc? In the summer depending on how many ppl live in the household, it can hit 200+, so yes $50 only for AC is a lot on a monthly bill.
