byzantium Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I feel like this graph shows the Eurozone having almost identical levels of inflation. Thought the GDP growth is impressive. Good for the US. We will need unprecedented gdp per capita growth if most of us ever want a shot at owning a home or having healthcare.
Happylittlepunk Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 The US has always done better than Europe economically for years. Even now despite inflation and covid and many other others. Economically US is doing well. 2
Rev8 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 (edited) Yea, the Ukraine/Russia war really did a number on Europe Edited June 28, 2023 by Rev8

Policies should increase standards for the average person, first and foremost. 3
Bosque Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I was ensured by extremely reliable sources that Biden single-handedly caused America inflation and a recession, so this is surprising to say the least 1
SuperCiC1 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Love how all the hysteria about Biden's economy was just that.

Sure Europe may have free or low cost healthcare and schools but as a whole Americans have more wealth. 1
VOSS Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 US usually has lower inflation mostly due to the dollar's reserve currency status. The GDP recovery is impressive though. UK really never recovered from last decade's recession and they now seem truly ******.

So the per capita difference is massive. Yet, the poverty level is more or less the same depending on what studies you look at. Also, the EU includes countries that are VERY poor like Bulgaria and Romania - not even close to the level of the least affluent states in the us. And like you said, at least the poorest in the EU have healthcare.

Letemtalk Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Sanctions on Russian oil exports have been far more harmful to other countries than the US, which is an oil producing nation. Which was all part of the plan, are there any sanctions on Russian uranium yet?

No one in Germany or France needs to pay for their kid to go to college, or for a hospital.

Bulgaria might be bad, but at least we don't need to pay 3000 dollars for an ambulance and to pay insurance for the insurance of the insurance
