If you were to disregard everything that went right for "Come On Over", I think maybe then the parallel would start to make sense.

"You Need to Calm Down" is her "Man I Feel Like a Woman"

ME! is her "That Don't Impress Me Much"

There is probably a discussion to be had about both’s longevity, but that is where their similarities end. Come On Over produced multiple country/pop classics; Lover’s best single has just been released nearly four years later. :deadbanana2:
 

I’m somewhat of a Lover apologist, but that’s mostly because I believe CS and DBATC are two of her best songs. Lover as a whole simply cannot measure up to Come On Over in nearly any way, though.
