GardenPanty Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Both pop-perfection albums scored many hits for their respective singers. But which album had the most impact? Discuss. 1
perfect blue Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 1989 wouldn't exist without Teenage Dream. 10 1 1

Klein Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 I voted 1989 cause it's often credited as one of the album that led to poptimism, but both albums have had a fantastic impact.

TayDuaStan Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 1989 The one that’s actually a well crafted album in its entirety & not just a collection of singles + filler 2 1

Selegend Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 (edited) Teenage Dream. 1989 streams are this high cuz Taylor Swift is the biggest (by far) artist of our generation, not exactly cuz of 1989 itself. People need to understand that no other female artist EVER had the loyal audience that Taylor has, that listen to her WHOLE catalog of songs in a daily basis, this never happened with any other female artist ever. I'm part of this number tbh, i'm currently OBSESSED with Taylor's whole catalog. She's on another level and that can make it look like 1989 was more impactful, but it's not. Taylor career >>>>>> (...) > Katy, and that's why 1989 streams are way higher. But in terms of impact and for a TB: Teenage Dream > 1989. Edited June 26, 2023 by Selegend
Josh Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 1989. No one knows what a Teenage Dream is beyond the singles.
halcyonday Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 1989 is one of many examples of Teenage Dream's impact. 2
Nico Robin Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Teenage Dream but it doesnt erase the massive impact 1989 had later that decade. However TD strong impact remains to that day
brazil Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Swifities keep spamming these pools and mass voting. TD is one of biggest moments in pop. Aint nobody know what a 1989 is
GivingCher Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 At the time Teenage Dream, but in the long run 1989. 1

But what was TD’s impact besides this? Discounting songs to chart higher? Remixing late era singles with anybody who was available in order to boost #s? The tackiest music video sets you’ve ever seen? There are no Katy replicas in pop music.
