Arcadius Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 It was actually smart for Olivia and her team to keep the same aesthetic for her sophomore album. It reminds me of how like Britney and Avril second albums had similar tones to their debuts which allowed them to avoid a slump. 1
BuzzCharts Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I think single #2 will come out a week before the album, so 9/1. Vampire will last the entire summer

Vampire will last the entire summer I hope she does this tbh. It will only increase the anticipation even more to wait a while. Two months is just long enough of a wait to still make sure people pay attention and don't entirely forget about it. I hope single #2 also has a petra collins music video. Her work is amazing and totally fits her aesthetic. 1

kyliefever2002 Posted July 6, 2023 Author Posted July 6, 2023 There were two wrenching, cinematic ballads, but they were crafted with a new self-assurance. The other two tracks were playful and insouciant—indications, ***** said, of this album’s turn away from melancholy. On one, which brought to mind Le Tigre, Charli XCX, and the Josie and the Pussycats soundtrack, Rodrigo careened toward an ill-advised and irresistible night with an ex. On the other, she sweetly wove a lyrical cat’s cradle about the impossible expectations that rest on idealized young women—the pressure to be sexy, thoughtful, funny, kind, inspirational, easygoing, endlessly grateful—and then ripped the threads apart on the chorus, flipping from Taylor Swift to Kathleen Hanna in a blink. I heard each song just twice, but the hooks are still ricocheting around my head. from vogue https://www.vogue.com/article/olivia-rodrigo-august-cover-2023-interview

Audiohead Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 yeah the dress on the cover is boring. I’m obsessed with the second pic she posted, with the navy bow top
QueenofCopyPaste Posted July 6, 2023 Posted July 6, 2023 She's on live right now in Vampire Listening Party answering questions: https://www.stationhead.com/c/livies She described GUTS the album in 3 words for her: angsty sad playful She said "GUTS" will be more mature lyrical content than SOUR, playful fun and happy side on some songs, also some sad ballads as well 1
SpaceOddity Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 I'm sorry Le Tigre and Charli XCX as influences? **** yeah. 1

georgechxng Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 daunting is definitely a song title from the album. she keeps writing that word in some of her posts and she's also now incorporating it into her radio interviews to describe stuff
QueenofCopyPaste Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 -More mature than SOUR -more tounge in cheek/playful -upbeat songs are danceable -signature ballads
