Taylor objectively.

 

Setting unprecedented demand in touring, shattering sales and streaming records, easily the biggest artist of the year. Britney in 1999-2000 was on par with other huge artists like Backstreet Boys and Eminem. Taylor wins in anything that isn't nostalgic appeal.

Both are one of the most successful acts ever, however, Britney lacks one thing that Taylor has - critical acclaim.

taylor’s career has already eclipsed the Beatles at their prime so

I think the comparison is unfair. Britney was a new act. She was giving iconic months and singles at every turn. Taylor right now is establish and is thriving off a back catalog and new interest of new music. It’s not quite the same.
