As somebody pointed before, industry and culture work in very different ways nowadays compared to back then so it's an odd comparison. 

 

What Taylor is doing nowadays is extremely impressive; but she's only really that big in the sphere of people who are interested in Taylor Swift. Britney spears was inescapable for everyone.

Yeah, Taylor being such a massive phenomenon 17 YEARS into her career is imo way more impresssive than being massive the first few years of your career. But not everyone can be as big as Britney was initially though.
