If you don't listen to pop music or familiar with pop culture as a whole, don't come here and run your mouth like Mr. know it all, kid. You just have no idea. :giraffe:

It's just the entire news is just about TS lately, i'm sure if tables were turned and it was 2001 i'm sure it be Britney selling 3 MCG Stadiums in less then 4 hours.  :deadbanana4:

These goofy ass questions :ahh:

Britney was never able to EFFORTLESSLY fill out countless stadiums and cause media frenzy when she dropped her tour dates like THE Taylor Swift

:ducky: Brit broke a digital sales record in 2011, 13 years after her debut so don’t play dumb again, and you keep avoiding the answer, why taylor failed to achieve Diamond in pure sales if it was so easy and Adele proved it was possible TWICE, WHY?

The OBTUSE broken record mentality.

List of Diamond (and above) albums in 1998-2000

- *NSYNC by *NSYNC

- The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill

- Greatest Hits by 2Pac

- Devil Without a Cause by Kid Rock

- Wide Open Spaces by The Chicks

- Double Life by Garth Brooks (21x Platinum)

- Fly by The Chicks

- Human Clay by Creed

- Millennium by Backstreet Boys

- …Baby One More Time by Britney

- Supernatural by Santana

- Country Grammar by Nelly

- Oops!… I Did It Again by Britney

- 1 by The Beatles

- No Strings Attached by *NSYNC

- The Marshall Mathers LP by Eminem

- Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park

Now, let’s look when Taylor’s Fearless and Adele’s 21 came out

2008: Only Fearless by Taylor Swift

2009: No album went Diamond

2010: No album went Diamond

2011: Only 21 by Adele

2012: No album went Diamond

2013: No album went Diamond

2014: No album went Diamond

Pop Quiz: Tell the class when was it easier to scan Diamond? :isudumblmao:

Britney’s only ‘impressive’ digital sales record is literally only the first week of Hold It Against Me, which was broken several times after - including by Taylor, and then Femme Fatale bombed.

Because 'Mine' got leaked and was rush released so it only had 3 days of digital sales, otherwise that record would have been Taylor's too :dies:

That song that broke that "record" didn't even end up doing 2M pure and isn't even 2X Platinum eligible after 12.5 years :deadbanana:

I think it's bit delusional that if people think streaming should not count.. Taylor is breaking all the possible tour records now because people still consume her music in a different way.

Depends on your definition of bigger.

Bigger as in name and face relevance to the public across all demographics? I'd say Britney.

Bigger as in useful bigger where she's publicly adored and is commercially dominating on all fronts? Its Taylor.

The tragedy of Britney as a popstar is beyond her 1999-2003 reign, she is essentially a warning sign to both industry aspirants and the public about how cruel and vicious the music industry can be to aspiring stars. Britney's claim to fame is 50% OIDIA and BOMT while the other 50% is her tragic life. All in all its not really something to parade around imo.

While still uncertified its all but in writing that Taylor Swift's 1989 is 11x Platinum in the US at this point. Its bigger than Fearless too domestically.

This was still an April 2021 update too. Its probably nearing 13M units at this point.

But why it didn’t happen for her, answer why, and fearless never went Diamond in pure sales, we’re talking about real selling power.

Fearless is Diamond, kindly send a letter of complaint to RIAA if you’re not happy x

Oops is not even above 10 million when you remove BMG Music Club (which were free) copies. So cue the BUT STREAMS bs.

Because next almost no albums sold 10M pure back then? The music industry changed from CDs/albums to digital singles in the mid-to-late 00s. The only person who was able to cross 10M pure sold is Adele with 21 (no, 25 did not SELL 10M pure. They included shipments).

Oops! didn't cross 10M pure without club sales either :michael:

Fearless sold like 7.3M pure at a time when everyone was buying singles. And even then she sold an astronomical amount of digital singles between Love Story, YBWM, Fifteen etc

She's going to double Britney's entire lifetime tour gross with 1 tour :deadbanana2:

Because it was easy in 1999-2001. It was not easy in 2009-2015. Adele proving that it was possible doesn't mean it was easy. What is not clicking? :deadbanana2:

I guess it's time for another Lana Del Rey vs. Taylor Swift poll thread in order to humble the bratty gen z swifties. :busted:

Not trying to be bratty, just pointing out the “people buying albums >>> free streams” argument is nonsensical bc its not like people aren’t paying up for Taylor  :deadbanana4:

Clock him! :fan:

It's always funny to see Britney stans cherry-picking her "records" when a simple Google search can destroy their whole argument. I don't think there's any fanbase living as much in the past as them :rip:
